Timothy Davis sports scrapes on his face and a neck brace. DeKalb police say he drove a stolen car which ultimately ran over him. That vehicle is 2015 Nissan Altima.

quote:

The car's owner, Gerard McBride tells FOX 5 he stopped to pick up groceries at the Kroger on Covington Highway. That was July 25. Around 7:30 that evening, he parked his car in a lot at his complex.

quote:

While he was inside, McBride says three guys jumped in and hit the "push to start" button. That's when McBride ran outside.

quote:

Police say a bullet struck Davis, who was behind the wheel. The car hit a curb.

quote:

According to the police report, the passengers bailed on foot at Fairington Road and Chubb Way. It also says the driver of the vehicle ran in front of the vehicle, thus getting struck by the vehicle.

quote:

McBride says later that day, he went to speak with investigators, as told. That's when he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. McBride says investigators told him that was for actually shooting the suspect.

Criminals should victimized.

A solid slap on the wrist and the driver will turn his life around and most likely got to medical or law school.

Can't use deadly force to protect property, legally.

Ethically, I have mixed feelings. Property crime is out of control.

A mother shouldn’t have to worry about her son being shot every time he steals a car

Just about time to start installing remote detonation IED's on domestic autos. Probably already an Ios app for that with Android not far behind.

Wife: "Honey, somebody stole the car. I swear I parked it in the driveway a few minutes ago."
Husband: pulls out iphone, taps screen and holds index finger over the button...muffled explosion heard in distance.."No worries sugar muffin. I found the car!"

He should shot him and the others a few more times. Then there’s no witnesses.

And yes, that law is about as shitty as squatter’s rights.

How about a booby trap that just decapitates the driver?

I keep telling you clowns, that just because you can carry or your state has stand your ground or castle doctrine laws, doesn't mean you can shoot people like it's the Old West.

Go ask the dude from St.Peters Missouri. Car thief pushed him down, got in his car, drove away, old baw thought he could shoot at a car driving away, he hit thief, killing him, and old baw is going to do jail time, possibly serious jail time. Once thief was in car and driving away, all those defense laws are gone, now you have become the hunter and criminal.

You cannot shoot people who are not a threat.

Just need some jury nullifications.

Sure it's an illegal act on the books, just not a crime in the minds of a few jurors! No more a crime to shoot a thief than to steal food/water after a natural disaster when the store owner evacuated and the disaster knocked out a window/door/wall.

Your car is an extension of your home. Being a southern miss fan I imagine you'd shoot someone too if they were stealing your trailer.
