Got a blue heeler/aussie shepherd mix who I can’t get inside when it’s cold. She’s going to enjoy the shite out of herself.

People (here at least) freak out about pets in the snow, but every single dog I see in the neighborhood is having the time of its life playing in it. Somehow people forget that animals have lived outside for a long time before recently.

Quickly went to a nothing event for central Alabama overnight. Hoping it changes but for now it looks like cold and nothing more.
Yeah it's crazy. One of my coworkers is friends with a Birmingham meteorologist and he told him this past Monday to probably expect between 6-8 inches of snow next week in Tuscaloosa. As of today,we will get nothing lol

We probably won’t see anything, but if we do get a little bit of snow it won’t take much to cause problems given how cold it will be.

Hopefully we won’t see a 2014 Snowmageddon repeat where the snow ends up a bit further north and everyone is caught off guard.

One of the big differences this time in BR area is this is looking like it could be a daytime snow event rather than overnight. Daylight snow seems like more of a rarity although I can remember some in my lifetime.

The pine trees in south louisiana cannot handle the weight of snow.

I never even really thought about my pine trees. I have around 15 of them lining my property on two sides. As much as a tropical storm and we leave. Not even going to risk it. The branches from probably 3-4 of them would be able to reach my roof. Should I be considering getting everybody out for this?

When we got 6.5 inches in Hammond back in 2008 they were snapping left and right.

That was a fun day. Wife and I, pre kids, acted like teenagers all day playing in the snow. Built a snowman. Had a snowball fight. Lost power early that morning and spent the rest of the day sitting in front of the fireplace. Great memory.

I think everyone will be overly cautious Tuesday. Even last week they were calling for nothing and many north of Tuscaloosa got a couple of inches. Spann is going to be bullish after the 2014 storm left him with egg on his face.
