Temps here are still in the mid 30s. So the precip is nice and all, but still some work to be done.

Mid 30s can be good enough if the surface. layer is a little dry. Wetbulb to snowy glory.

Its going to be so fun watching the snow pictures come in. I get snow all the time now, but gulf coast snow is special.

I was out around 630 and it felt like Christmas Eve with no one anywhere but the grocery which had empty shelves and a 30 minute check out.

Do folks expect the Apocalypse?

Don’t think so, but this is not something our infrastructure is prepared to handle.

So getting some supplies is probably a good idea

So far every local guy from Houston to BR has said I should get 4-8 so I’m going with the homeboys. That last NAM run has me in the 4-5 range so I’ll take it.

I-20 in Louisiana is totally covered on radar. If reaching the ground, this would have been totally unexpected. Can anyone confirm?

Correct.

Gas systems could get over taxed. Tree branches falling onto power lines could cut power. Snow/ice will pose traffic issues. The cold could burst pipes, flood properties, and disrupt water distribution do to burst pipes and faucets dripping.

La. Is vulnerable at several levels. Be careful.

Its comical reading the warnings now that im live in snow country, but this is right.

Windchills -35 to -50 tonight, and not a soul is worried about the the pipes or running water. Saw six ploughs on the way home, servicing an area of 25k people.

No long stretches of elevated roadways here. I got snow tires and most people have snow rated tires and awd.
