The GMC Canyons almost look like Sierras now.

Truck on the left looks like a Ford.

1/2 ton trucks with a crew cab no longer fit in a standard size 2 car garage. They're too long.

My 2015 doesn't fit in a 2 car built in 2012.

Mine is a lifted 2012 Silverado with lower valence removed. Front end looks almost laughably lean compared to the newer models with the blocky front end.

Disagree. I am not a huge fan of the 19s.

Yep. The front end of trucks has gotten ridiculous. The next remake will start to look like those 70s big rigs.

My 04 2500hd is much smaller than a new one. I'd probably have to lift it 4" to get the same height hood and bedrails

I have a 2011 Silverado and was recently parked next to a recent year model Colorado and their really isn't much difference in the size.

They will soon need to adapt their drop down tailgate technology for the doors.

They must have gotten design queues from Ford.

My neighbor has a mid 90s 2500 reg cab long bed. My 2012 1500 reg cab long bed dwarfs it.

The new “mid sized” (Tacoma, etc) are the size of the 15 year old 1/2 tons.

The hyperbole in this thread is insane. That's not anywhere close to true

This is a good topic. I buy half tons because I don't need a damn beast. All I need is to throw some shite in the back now and again and pull a utility trailer or ski boat. Give me the drivability and ride. Also, I can lean on the damn side of the bed while we're drinking beer and solving the world's problems. If I needed a beast I'd buy a beast.

They’ve been getting bigger each new model. Go sit in a 2000 model and see how small it feels

It’s never brought up, but the ever growing massive vehicles don’t help the traffic problems we always gripe about.

Agreed. One tons are great if needed. Luckily I no longer need one. The ride on my 1/2 ton Chevy is soo smooth. Towing capacity is fine although I miss the heavy arse of the one ton when towing a goose neck.
Like you, if I ever feel the need for a deep breather again I’ll get one. But my half ton is pretty nice for now.
