Decent picture that shows how 1/2 ton trucks are bulking up in size

2019 on the left, 2016-2018 model on the right. And the old model is leveled / lifted some.
Interestingly despite GM’s aero and weight saving tricks with the 19 it is still only managing roughly the same fuel economy as the old model. They are basically trying to fix the negative aero effect of the huge front end.

yeah, "normal" sized trucks are getting fricking huge, but that's been a trend for a while.

Helps reduce the amount of nut flop as well. Really changed the game IMO.

I still use a 92 Silverado and the size difference is hilarious when I pull up to a baw in a new 1500.

i have a friend who had a tundra about that age and i was shocked how small it was. he got a new taco and yeah, basically the same size

While the new trucks are bigger, the left truck is a foot further up in the parking spot and the picture is taken in front of it. Makes it look much bigger. It's like the guys that extend a fish or deer closer to the camera.
