There’s a reason they no longer have big parades in the French Quarter

Some people coming to the area thought it was all decorations at first.

One guy walking down the street he was walking by and they asked him if he knew CPR and he said he did when he was a lifeguard years ago so they gave him a body to work on until someone walked up and told him to stop because they woman was dead.

Another woman gave lipstick to paramedics who used the lipstick to mark people as dead. She left her costume to cover up one of the bodies.

94 women were killed out of the 152 so far. 19 foreigners and at least 1 American. They’re still identifying bodies
(Update: Now two Americans confirmed dead including a University of Kentucky student)

Someone put up a memorial wreath that said “may you achieve your dreams in. Better world than this”

Considering the proximity to a US military installation, there's a good chance US servicemembers may be part of the victims.

I saw a graphic earlier that had victims broken down by nationality. It had 2 victims from the US.

I just saw this tweet:

Two American college students among at least 153 dead in Seoul crowd crush

The known American fatalities were identified as Anne Gieske from northern Kentucky & Steven Blesi from Georgia's Kennesaw State University.

You ain’t lying. Jesus Christ. I don’t even know what “I call bullshite on this “even means in this situation .
What could possibly be the reason to make it up?

Yongsan garrison has pretty much shut down. Almost everyone has moved down to Pyongtek.

At sporting events? The most famous crush till now was at a soccer stadium in the 1980s where 94 people died I believe. The goalie was listening to cries of help as thousands of people were crushed against the fence keeping fans off the field. There’s a reason you no longer see those fences.

The Hillsborough Disaster. Liverpool Fans still call for “justice for the 96”. There’s a fascinating 30 for 30 called Hillsborough. Scary stuff.

Did Halloween even exist before America showed up for the Korean war?

Know but in about every article mentioned it is popular in the area as a party night. They definitely don’t go trick or treating or anything. But they get to let loose.

If you ever watch midnight Asia on Netflix, it’s a documentary series about late night Asian cities, they show pretty well how they repress themselves so much all the time that when it comes to partying, every ounce of creativity and passion that has been pent up trying to be perfect gets released

You see that with Japanese tourists and businessmen. All straitlaced until 5pm and then they go to the SandM bars and stuff starting at one minute after five.
