Loved that place....lived in the Harrington over in Namgu and then the Trump tower over by the duck lake.

A stampede of what? Are animals involved?

It's been 20 years since I've been in Korea but I can't recall it ever being a thing back then. It has to be a recent trend.

Itaewon, Seoul
Ohhhhh that explains it. Lots of foreign influence here where you'll see signs in several languages including English, Russian, etc. Yongsan Army Garrison is just outside Itaewon. Aaaaa memories. The Hill makes Bourbon look like Disney World.

I'm curious to know as well as that area is usually pretty crowded to begin with during the weekends as I remember. Certainly, things have changed and a bulk of the money those establishments make were from US troops stationed there. Not sure if Yongsan is still as big as 8th Army HQ had been moved from there to further back on the peninsula.
If it's still like it was back in the day, those bars and clubs get super crowded and it's like the Koreans don't believe in fire safety laws. Add to the fact those streets are narrow and the infamous Hill is on a 30-35 degree grade. A panic would certainly spell disaster for thousands of people who are there on a typical weekend evening.

Social media and major networks create hype around dumb shite and it leads to this
Same thing with Black Friday sales at Walmart…”door busters”

Too bad you don’t feel the same about race.
