Well, you have to be dead to die.

Not true

Some religious folks do neither.

Wow. She is going to hold that over them at Christmas! "Remember that time you tried to bury me alive? I do."

Curious as to if this ever bothered you in your fast mover days?

FTR I'm right there with you with regards to the cremation thing. My private version of hell involves my soul being aware inside of a coffin 6ft under.

Buddy of mine is a funeral home director. He once had an old lady that was supposedly dead. When he went to prep one of the arteries to start the embalming process, blood squirted from the artery in her neck.. Dead bodies have no blood pressure or heart beat to pump so that meant she was alive. Barely, but her heart was slowly pumping.

He hurried up and applied pressure to the incision, had his assistant call 911 and the paramedics arrived to take her back to the hospital. She was barely alive at that point.

They brought her back to him 4 hours later. He asked him "Are sure this time?" That was the only time he said that has happened to him. It's crazy that with modern medicine that could happen. That was back in 2014 when she came across his table.

not at all but one of my worst experiences was going through simulated POW school, I’ve posted it before but it was probably as bad as it got for me, they bound my wrists to my ankles and then a cord around my neck and thighs and put me in a coffin like box for hours, they would rotate the box ever so often, upside down, on the side, etc., the only thing that kept me going was I knew it was temporary, they had to let me go eventually, and I wanted a jet so badly, never ever feel confined when the canopy comes down because there you have total control

yup

ETA: back then they could smack you around a bit but I never made a noise, when they were putting me in the box I tried to act like it was no big deal because I knew if I acted terrified they’d make it worse

Stories such as these make me wonder how common it is to be buried alive

Supposedly 7% of burials are premature. A lot of people are buried alive. Maybe better than being cremated prematurely.
