That's ridiculous. Daycare workers should be required to take a class on child safety and CPR. That's it.

Nothing will change, just now instead of 90% of home day cares not paying taxes all 100% won't pay taxes.

This aught to help out with the price of daycare. Because we all know you need a college degree to change diapers and pick up blocks

And in 6 months they will all be crying about how there is a massive shortage in daycare workers

Who the hell wants to get a college degree to work in a daycare

You need a degree to watch kids play on the swings and change diapers?

Though it seems wrong on the surface, it seems like a good idea to use a degree as a filtering mechanism.

People willing to pay money and sacrifice might be less likely to be on their phones and social media all day.

Demographic data also shows they are less likely to be kiddie diddlers.

Nobody. But unemployed people with unemployable degrees might settle for childcare rather than being a barista.

There has to be some middle ground. I mean do you want some high school drop out who just got out of drug rehab watching infants?

Daycare and nursing homes are the two biggest financial scams in the country but they are basically paid to make sure kids and old people don't die of un-natural causes.

The thing is that the basic job of a daycare worker is to make sure the kid doesn't die. How much is that worth?

In fact, I’m surprised the daycare lobby in Louisiana and other states haven’t tried this already

My child’s daycare would have 2 employees (maybe) on Monday

And in a few years, we’ll hear about how daycare workers can’t afford to repay their student loans and how taxpayers who have better paying jobs despite never going to college should pay to forgive those student loans for the daycare workers

As I said. How much is it worth to make sure that your kids are alive when you pick them up from daycare?
