No money to be made from such trivial matters as doing what your constituents request.

Don’t fall back. Don’t spring forward. Don’t even touch the clock unless the power goes out. That seems to be message from the country’s physicians as this Sunday most Americans will lose an hour of sleep when clocks “fall back” to standard time from daylight saving time (DST).
AMA doesn't even understand what is happening this weekend.

Well, Republicans have majority control of the House so they co6ld get it done if they wanted. Guess since the Senate is Dem majority they won't out of spite. That's the way the shitshow usually plays out for both sides.
It’s what DC has become. They have us arguing over which system (DST or not) we prefer every time the clocks change while they sit on the opportunity for any of us to actually do anything about it.
I think the general consensus is for the clocks to just not change, but they won’t even allow us to have an honest conversation about it without passing this law.

When every American is able to correctly say which one daylight saving time is and which one standard time is you can change them. Until then it stays the same.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Right now, the sun rises here around 8 am and sets around 7. In the past 2-3 weeks 3 kids have been hit by cars on their way to school.

I have absolutely no problems goin to work in the dark. I wasn't going to be able to cut grass at that time anyway

If we keep having an extra hour of sunlight, that will just accelerate man made climate change.

Let it be dark while we're going to work/school. Most of us aren't outside while at work or school. It's a waste of daylight. buck up and get on the bus while it's still dark. stop being pussies, America.
This exactly. You're not doing chores or shite around the house before you go to work. With standard time, almost all daylight hours are spent while at work in winter months, for most people. You can't plan around that to get shite done. Those that work outside and actually need daylight for most of their work can plan around it a bit better. You have shop work, maintenance, prep work, etc before you get to an actual job site. If it's a big enough type of job site, you can put up lights.

Why not move it 30 minutes and call it a day.
Everyone will be happy.

Not a real fan of DST. Because in reality DST for CST is just EST. And I can't stand EST but that's because of tv programming. Personally, if they just picked one and never changed, I'd be fine...just call it Standard Time and leave it alone. I'm just glad I don't work graveyard shifts on that day when you fall back....and have to work that extra hour of time..AND NOT GET COMPENSATED.

Yeah I say leave it in standard time like most other countries do and stop messing with it.
Hell several of our own states don’t even observe DST and leave it standard year round.

I say make a 30 minute adjustment and call it quits. I think it’s a good compromise.
But that makes entirely too much sense.

Hate to break it to you, it will sill be dark before 6pm in the winter months.
DST doesn't work in the winter.

And as crime is increasing across the country, we will be leaving work at dark, often in places where we don't like to be after dark...I hate it.
A good point.

Mother Nature Time is the way it should be as God intended.

Leaving work in the dark sucks. Keep DST year round.
It's all relative to where you live vs the time zone line

Im a standard time guy. I like having light in the morning. So what if it gets dark at 5 instead of six for like only 2-3 months a year.
