That being said, I will say Gen-z is more reliable than Millennials as far as waking up on time, consistency and showing up; you cant count on a millennial at all, and they have a pity party attitude x10 compared to gen-z if I can generalize.
Pretty much. Having worked with some of them in the workforce I've seen a 50/50 split. Half are lazy shits and the other half are hardworking folk. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground with them.

I'm not going to hate on all of Gen Z, but I have noticed exactly that with a lot of them. I have some Gen Z staff though that will bust their arse as needed.

Gen-Z lacks a specific ability called figuring shite out. There is a distinct void of an ability to fill in the smallest of gaps in instructions or information. Everything must be spelled out 100%, almost to the level you need to keep reminding them to continue breathing while performing a task.
I’m not that old, but I do find this to be true. Gen Z seems to be TERRIFIED of making a decision or confrontation. And by confrontation I mean even just “why did you do this?” They’d rather just make no decision at all than have to explain why they did something.
I don’t know how much of that is due to age and lack of experience or if they’ll continue to operate that way as they get older

You see the impaired slobs he employs, its a bad sample set

Rightfully she was mad

Then they went back and forth. But in the end they both said they respect each others and hold no grudges

One big issue with this rant is that they are angry and bitter, and they don’t believe that commuting long distances and working late hours will actually get them enough to the top/extra money to justify the commute and grind.
Some also saw their parents do long commutes and long workdays and barely be around, and it doesn’t appeal to them
they are okay not getting “ahead” and enjoying life while young even if it’s not financially responsible or in their best interest because they have given up and just know they aren’t ever going to retire … and honestly I don’t even blame them for thinking that way
Most companies have zero loyalty to their employees. You can bust your arse for a company for 15 years and times get tough and they lay you off.
These kids saw it happen to their parents so it impacts how the view the workforce.

He just described 90% of his workforce at Barstool. He keeps enabling them, if he truly means it he would fire some of them.

My counter to that is how many Gen Xers/Xennials/older Millennials are in MLM schemes. I don’t think it’s exclusive to Zs. It just looks different in its platform.
Pyramid stuff always hit me more as gambling on the side rather than a considered career path. The Z's I'm referring to grow up invested in the idea that their future is their own brand, which many have absolutely made a living in, but it does create a contempt of "traditional" jobs and careers... much like a pro gambler, rock star or athlete, I guess.

I spend every week doing extra work because admins are too afraid of having an empty classroom to actually make these Gen Zers do their jobs.

He didn't find her. He didn't control the company when she signed on. The PE firm who bought him out did.
1) thats not true. There is avideo somehwere on youtube where Erika talks about Dave approaching her and convincing her to take the job.
2) You said she did all the work to grow the company but now there is a PE firm involved? Last I checked, PE firms don't invest in failing companies.

1. PE firms buyout failing companies all the fricking time so lol
2. I never said barstool was a failing company under dave. Just that they were not in any way shape or form the multimedia company they have become. They went from relatively small, but growing to pretty big and growing much faster once Dave sold to Chernin.
Idk I guess it's crazy for me to give a large amount of credit to the CEO who took a 15M company to 100M in the first 2 years of taking the job.

No its crazy of you to act like the guy that took a $0 company and built it to a $15M did nothing.

A lot of hate for a dude that started a newspaper and morphed it into a online media company, sold it for millions, then bought it back for $1. Sure he's no manly man, but dude knows how to grind it out.

I definitely did not say or imply that dave did nothing. You read that in yourself.

This a direct quote from you:

It didn't really become a media company until someone else took the reigns.
So while you don't outright say he did nothing, you heavily insinuate that he had little to nothing to do with the success of the company.
I realize you're going to reply that I can't put words in your mouth but thats exactly what every person does every time anyone communicates. You hear or read the words and you then decipher the intention and meaning of what they are saying. Not only that, you have continued to minimize Dave's involvement with every post in this thread. So sure, you never the exact words that Dave did nothing but that has definitley been your implied POV through your posts. Otherwise you wouldn't continue to argue against the idea that Dave worked hard to build the company.
Posted on 4/15/25 at 4:07 pm to Bert Macklin FBI
Dave worked hard to build the company. I don't deny that at all.

Didn’t portney just give a gen z’er 12 million dollars just to switch schools?
