It has turned into his most popular content that he personally makes but people need to stop acting like Dave started a pizza review company and fell arse backwards into a media company.

It didn't really become a media company until someone else took the reigns. It was a regional fantasy sports blog with a side of college frat pop culture. It didn't turn into a national multi-media company until someone else stepped in.

So he gets no credit for finding a CEO that could get them to new heights? He also gets no credit for building them to a point where a good CEO would take the job and grow the company?

He didn't find her. He didn't control the company when she signed on. The PE firm who bought him out did.

That would be the former CEO, Erika Badan. Barstool was a northeast sports blog prior to her arrival and exploded in reach and popularity during her tenure.

What a novel and original discussion topic.

People have literally been sharing this sentiment since before the birth of christ. It's different this time though!!

Dave got the company in a place to be attractive to Penn

Erica added some legitimacy for sure but Dave was the driving force of the gambling deal that took them to nine figures

For every lazy gen z there’s 5 blue collar hard working gen z. Let’s not act like laziness is some new phenomenon that no one’s ever seen before.

People used to own slaves to do their work for them.

If you actually followed the story, you’d know this is half true at best. Yes, Chernin was aware of Erica, but Dave interviewed several people, Erica said turned down the job at first, but Dave was hellbent on having her as CEO because of his belief of her and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Dave is certainly a hateable guy, especially when is trying to be which is often, but he’s not some dumbass that lucked into his success. He’s shown time and time again he’s a good judge of character, if nothing else. I respect him for admitting to not knowing what he doesn’t know, and owning up when he makes mistakes.

I will say this as someone who has hired and trained blue collar workers for close to 20 years.

Gen-Z lacks a specific ability called figuring shite out. There is a distinct void of an ability to fill in the smallest of gaps in instructions or information. Everything must be spelled out 100%, almost to the level you need to keep reminding them to continue breathing while performing a task.

That being said, I will say Gen-z is more reliable than Millennials as far as waking up on time, consistency and showing up; you cant count on a millennial at all, and they have a pity party attitude x10 compared to gen-z if I can generalize. Unfortunately for Gen-Z their value per cell is much lower, because the inability to think from principles at all.
