Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy didn't mince words when discussing the "lazy, entitled losers" taking baby boomers' place in today's workforce.

"They've grown up in a world where it's [an] everyone gets a trophy generation, and the idea of showing up and going through traffic and being at the office at 8:45 and working until six, they look at you like you've got 10 heads," he continued.

Portnoy proceeded to claim the youngest working age group expects everything handed to them "on a silver platter" and lamented they're "very hard to motivate."

He closed out the criticism by branding Gen Zers "really lazy, entitled losers."

It's hard to compare the young professionals of the generation to the type of person who applies to work at an internet content company like barstool.

It's a self selecting sample.

Doesn't Portnoy work from home in Miami half the year to avoid taxes?

I will never understand this maniacal compulsion to categorize literally millions of individuals as the same based on the specific dates they were born. Talk about lazy.

If Portnoy can’t find Gen Z folks who want to work, maybe he’s just shitty at hiring people.

One big issue with this rant is that they are angry and bitter, and they don’t believe that commuting long distances and working late hours will actually get them enough to the top/extra money to justify the commute and grind.

Some also saw their parents do long commutes and long workdays and barely be around, and it doesn’t appeal to them

they are okay not getting “ahead” and enjoying life while young even if it’s not financially responsible or in their best interest because they have given up and just know they aren’t ever going to retire … and honestly I don’t even blame them for thinking that way

Exactly. If you want to get to do what he does then it takes hard work in the beginning.

That would be the former CEO, Erika Badan. Barstool was a northeast sports blog prior to her arrival and exploded in reach and popularity during her tenure.
