Hot take is way off. Rock is one of the few black comedians that can relate to all races. Yes, there's some black stuff thrown in, but don't let the crowd of Arsenio Hall style hooters and holler ears fool you. Just watch one of his recent specials. Just because he seems more militant than Chapelle doesn't mean he's inaccessible to white people.

Chris Rock was probably funnier for a long time.
Chappelle had the unreliable streak - but at his funniest probably a little funnier than Rock - so Rock gets consistency award and Chappelle gets peaks and valleys award.
Fair enough?
