These people are 100% going to claim injury once they blow through that $1,500. Report this claim to your insurance and let them handle it

Bro told me of a similar situation that happened to a coworker of his but the co was the one who got hit. The driver actually didn't have insurance at the time of the wreck, was a new driver, but the mom called and got insurance on the car as soon as they found out about the wreck. The mom talked to co and gave him like 5k cash to sweep it under the rug. Turns out co is a POS and filed a claim with insurance and kept the 5k and acted like he never got any money from the mom. Not sure how it finished playing out but basically you would be like the mom in this situation, so don't give any money without it being documented as they might try and screw you over big time. Definitely get them to sign something with a notary if y'all doing then back room dealings. Otherwise let the insurance take care of it

Don’t pay them a dime without getting a signed release for property damage as well as injuries.

I always recommend drafting such things as waivers and releases a hobby. Just remember, playing Perry Mason is fun until you actually have to do it.

I settled two claims for my kids like this. No issues whatsoever, no release signed either.
If cops have been notified, just let insurance handle it as is going up anyway.

Not a lawyer but had a similar experience last year with my son. He's up North at college and bumped someone. Scratch was minor but they took it to a shop and wanted $1,000 cash. Estimate was $1,100. We tried to negotiate, and they demanded cash or hit our insurance. Had a lawyer friend draw up a simple release statement for all current and future claims (both car and personal injury), like others below mentioned. Had our son meet the guy at the bank and have him sign the release in front of the bank Notary, then Notarized then exchange cash.
Keeps it off insurance as you probably have a $500 or $1,000 deductible and the release is Notarized. If they come back at you with later accusations, you have a witnessed and notarized release.

Get an attorney to draft full release. Make sure the attorney knows your daughter is a minor.

Better get a deal before a billboard attorney gets involved.
