So why did you start this thread for discussion?

i think it's an interesting topic, especially in light of the feminism issues (both their attack and the feminism-based reasons for the deficits that are, ironically, hurting women). we haven't touched the latter topic

i think more men need to be taught these important economic issues for their own sake, primarily to combat the bullshite mythology of feminism that has created the monstrous way that we view relationships.

Did you start this thread simply to impress the board with your extensive knowledge?

i posted a book that i didn't write, so no

Or did you start it just so you could argue, then deem yourself as correct?

well if somebody is going to disagree with a premise that i agree with, i'll argue against it. so will you (as you are)

Did you start this thread simply to impress the board with your extensive knowledge? Or did you start it just so you could argue, then deem yourself as correct? Kinda like Hammertime?

But you're not debating (or discussing) the topic. You had an emotional reaction to the topic and are wanting to discuss your feelings. That's why I thought you were kidding at first.

Yup. I could slay black BBW babymommas all day long on PoF if I were so inclined. Yikes.

So you're saying that from a sexually attractive standpoint, women decrease on average more than men? OK, I can get on board with that.

But that's not what's being stated, be honest. What has been stated is their VALUE decreases as they get older. And what I'm trying to get you, and the others to understand, is there is more to a woman, and a man, then simply their sexual value. Or sexual attractiveness. Value, to me, encompasses everything. And when I look at individuals, what I value in them has evolved over time, and continues to evolve. It changes.

My point is only that. If you want to say they decline in their attractiveness? Or you sexually desire younger women? Yes, I agree. But our value, as humans, has much more to do than with just that.

Can you even concede that point?

The only values that exist are ones that we ascribe to one another. Objectively, humans don't mean shite.

no, more about how he sees it, "good guy" who did the right thing but received no affection, but now I make more money, all of a sudden I'm attractive enough.

So, this was more of a gotcha to the young hot chick that he felt he deserved, but wasn't valuable enough, and now that he is valuable enough she has less value?

Geez, there must be like a 10-minute window when all theses desires and values match up.

Yup - when I started on Match when I was 26 years old, I figured I was probably in the top 15% of desirable guys on Match at the time. Great condo, lots of free time, 6-1 white dude with good looks, etc. Decent income. Funny but a little shy.

It didn't take long to figure out that I wasn't coming close to dating girls that were equal to my standards, and I inherently observed the guys who WERE. Saw what they were wearing, how they were acting, how much they went to the gym. Discovered some gaming blogs and books.

The difference as I improved my value over the next 6-7 years was stunning. Tinder took off in the last 1.5 years of my dating life and it validated everything I had already learned. It took so much effort and self discipline and I genuinely feel terrible for guys who aren't able to pull it off. It was so frustrating to me, and I had it so much better than so many guys I know. I really do worry about our collective future when I think about how awful that game can be. I hope I never have to get back into that chase - I think I found my sweet spot with the current GF and we're very happy.

I think the issue in festus' disagreement is that you guys aren't qualifying your statements such a this
quote:

Women have no value after they turn 35.
do you mean only that they have no biological value?

Because as fest stated, he's not just looking for a hottie to knock up. He's already got like ten pot head sons so probably doesn't want to go there again

I don't think even Hammertime was referring to overall value as a human being. Again, everybody loves Grandma.

U even context bro?

their value in the context of dating, specifically hooking up. and yes looks play a huge part in that, b/c that's just a major part of sexual attraction.

you are an outlier at best or a liar at worst

what i don't think you get is that your anecdotal and emotional example just doesn't weigh heavily in the discussion

we're having a macro-level discussion about social/sexual interactions of men and women.

quote:

But our value, as humans

i have addressed this strawman directly, as well as at least one other poster. we're not talking about a moral value

that's the strawman. you're trying to change this discussion from a social-sexual analysis into some sort of moral analysis

bullshite, I'm doing exactly that, much more so than you, who simply asks me if I'm joking. Real debate and discussion there.

I don't know how to discuss it in any clearer terms than I have in each of my posts. If it sounded passionate, well, I guess I'm passionate about it. But I don't think that diminishes my points, and what I've posted to support them. If others do, so be it. Emotional discussion is not always bad, imo.

I don't believe that, fwiw. I think both of your posts to me at that point weren't genuine, but were sarcasm.

this thread is about relationships/sex

and our demo is somewhat important (i'd say primarily 22-30)

and i never said they had no value (and even on page one, a guy remarked that their mouths had value, saying there is some sexual outlet available)

No, you had an emotional reaction and responded accordingly.

Emotional discussion can be when it completely obscures the point being discussed.

Both posts were not sarcasm. The first one was a little tongue-in-cheek. We get it. You were offended by the OP. As someone else has already said, everyone loves grandma. On that point, we agree with you.
