I think there may be some merit to whatever the author says. But, each person, man and woman, has to decide what they want, what they are willing to compromise and what they are willing to forego for partner.

If you have diametrically opposing viewpoints, chances are you are not going to make it long with that person, regardless of how hot or rich they are.

and let me add one caveat that i didn't include in the OP and is important: we tend to date/marry within certain similar classes

one major gatekeeper distinction is college education. women are dominating men in terms of college populations (and have been for a long while now) and that's creating the deficits that are affecting women and their ability to find relationships today.

the other examples are religious groups that have deficits that are facing issues accordingly, so that's less applicable

Is that weird?

Fa sho. As girls get older, they don't realize a man's value increases, while theirs decreases. That's why we can seriously date younger girls, and yall can only one-night-stand younger guys.

I'm 31 (32 in March), and try to only date girls 23-30. For me to date a 31-32 year old, she would have to be an 7+ on the looks scale and a perfect 10 on the personality scale. No exceptions

This is true. And one of those areas that women have to decide if it's something they are willing to compromise. This has never been an issue for me. Intellignece, for me, is not measured by a degree. And a college degree is not something I ever remotely considered as a requirement for a partner.

other examples are religious groups that have deficits

For me, this is probably a bigger issue. I'm not particularly religious and I have no problems with others religion. However, if my converting to his religion is an issue for him, then he's not the guy for me.

I'm 30 and I think my sweet spot is 22-27. I'm dating a college freshman now because IDGAF about long-term prospects--got divorced 6 months ago so I'm just having fun. At 22-27 they're college grads and are starting their careers, so they're financially independent. They're still young enough that you can start dating them and wait several years before marrying and having kids--those ovaries are still churning out good eggs.

I agree, for me to date an older woman, she'd have to be incredible. I wouldn't rule it out, but she'd have to be beautiful, fit, have a great job, and have a great personality. And be great in bed of course.

well i get what you mean

i was just talking about the book, though. he focuses on mormons and ulta-conservative jews, who through their religion create deficits that are giving men lots of value (and lots of power accordingly)

For anyone that holds strong religious convictions...they are not gonna want to seriously date/marry someone that doesn't share their beliefs.

i'm thinking of going back to school and i will admit that being around a bunch of 18-22 year old prospects isn't a terrible idea

So since I'm 25 with a really good job, my own house, and have a reasonably good level of physical fitness, I should be able to just pick out whichever fine arse woman I want, right???

thats what men today are getting told repeatedly. then despite all that career and financial success the same ~10% of guys are still getting all the women.

this book gives false hope to many younger dudes, moreso than anything else.

"just wait until youre 30 and you can have any girl you want" - it doesnt work that way
