no shite dip shite, as i said in another post. if a cop pulls me over illegally, i dont react with being billy bad arse back and not roll down my window. i must be a big fricking beta, cause i roll down my window and have a conversation with the cop within reason.

the cop is going to jail and should be, i dont see the kids rights getting trampled on if he would rolled down the window and had an adult conversation. common fricking sense. not everything needs to be a pissing match confrontaiton

Holy hell. That's terrible. That cop should spend the rest of his life rotting in jail. But as disturbing as what this cop did is, the most disturbing part of the story is how the police department not only tried to cover up this cop's crime, they even went so far as to intimidate, harass and mock this brain damaged kid.

He wanted him to get out the car as well as roll down his window. The cop wasnt going to stop with an adult conversation dipshit. This same officer has confronted this kid twice. The kid knew what he was doing

I'll tell you a big part of the problem.

If all the cop did was drag the kid out of the car and arrest him, he'd still have a job.

Basically, the cop could have done everything just as wrong other than the tasing and he would still have a job.

He could do it 100 times, and he'd still have a job.

You can pretty much bet THIS wasn't his first rogue rodeo. And it would have All Been caught on dash cam and he'd STILL have a job.

The PROBLEM is that the police forces are AWARE of cops like him. This ain't 1970. Cop bull shite is on camera now! But he has to nearly kill someone to lose his job.

It isnt surprising. Look at the people here

"It was the kids fault too"

"Just do what the cop says, who cares if your rights are being violated. Path of least resistance"

etc etc

Without video, this cop would be a hero who took a thug off the street. That is the true scary part

All I am saying is that you and every person like you who wants to "exert your constitution rights" when it has been proven time and time again that a ton of cops are immature and power hungry.....are just stupid.

It's like fighting a guy who insulted your girl when 10 of his buddies are with him and you are alone.

You deserve to get your butt beat.

What you, and others of the same view, don't seem to understand is that if everyone did as you suggested all, of our constitutional rights would be taken away. Someone, somewhere has to stand up to these abuses. Yes, a very high price is often paid, but unless these abuses are challenged they will continue and get worse. Do you think there would have been any consequences for the illegal stop if the kid would have complied? Nope. This police department and others will now have to face the reality that they cannot trample on citizens rights without consequences. That comes at a great price, but I'm thankful someone was willing to challenge the status quo.

Assume everyone does as you suggest and comply with law enforcement abuses. What happens? They get worse and worse. Thank goodness there are people out there who expose what's going on with militarized policing by challenging them.

All that being said, I would not personally be the hero and challenge a cop the way this kid did and others do. I advise my kids to politely refuse unwarranted searches, not to talk to cops, but to comply with every 'command' immediately.

While it's somewhat of a stretch, I consider this kid and others who are willing to put themselves in harm's way to be heros of a sort.

Yep. It is because people give cops so much damn leeway. I mean look at this thread

"Yeh the cop is wrong, but if the kid just let him be wrong it wouldnt have been as bad."

I mean what kind of weak bullshite attitude is that to have for people who should be serving the public.

and that is confirmed in that the police department claims the only error the cop made was keeping the taser on him for 23 seconds instead of the recommenced 5 and dropping him on his face. They maintained till the end that the stop, initial taze, and arrest were valid even though there was NO warrant or probable cause.

I agree with and respect your post and feel the same way. It's a stupid move to challenge these power hungry cops but I'm glad and thankful that some do it.

If he asks you to get out of the car, then get out of the car. Simple as that.

People try to be tough guys and stand up to the cops. I do not understand it.

It's not about rights with these people around here. It's about bowing down to the badge. I have lost all respect for this board. Bunch of sheeple in here.

I'm shocked by some of the replies.

"Cop had no authority to do anything he did, but by golly the kid should have obeyed."

frick that cop. He deserves to rot in prison.
