I'm torn because on one hand, you have the church of scienetology and all their bs who obviously could have kept them in check. But to bring up charges from 20 years ago with no real evidence isn't what I would call a fair trial. In a vacuum, it does appear suspicious that 3 women would have the same type of story until you realize how it all works now where these lawyers will farm out witnesses and co-victims. It's all a carefully orchestrated thing.

If we had just a couple of police reports from that time, then maybe. But I'm not really cool with manufacturing rape charges like they've been doing lately. These are wacked out feminists who believe all sex is rape. And it's hard to defend your innocence from 20 years ago.

Of course they don’t.

If masterson wasn’t in a cult he would’ve been in prison years ago…. Only reason it took so long is bc of Scientology.

Good. Isn't he a Scientologist. He can ask Xeno for help.

The problem is the three accusers were also Scientologists at the time. And one of them was his girlfriend of five years (he was not convicted on that charge).

I didn't follow this case closely but from what little I read it seemed like they were putting Scientology on trial in a way. That bothers me and I'm guessing it will be a major issue on appeal.

It's hypocritical to attack one Scientologist, based on animus of that organization and it's members, and then rely on other Scientologists in doing so. Or as Groucho Marx said, "I would never join a club that would allow someone like me to be a member". If you think it's an evil cult of crazy people than you should apply that derision to the credibility of former members as well instead of irrationally granting them special status because they are now on your perceived notion of the "right side". In my experience crazy people don't change, they just re-direct their crazy. People like Leah Rami, who of course was very involved in this trial, simply shift from Scientology worshipper to Scientology attacker. The underlying personality flaw and/or psychiatric problems are always present. The leopard doesn't change it's spots, only the game it hunts.

None of this means the dude didn't commit rape but that charge needs to be independently proved beyond a reasonable doubt as would any other crime. And a 20 year old he said/she said accusation from someone with an axe to grind looks a lot like reasonable doubt from my admittedly limited perspective.

He said she said” always sucks, but it seems in a case like this you are guilty as hell until proven innocent

When you have 3 different women claiming the same thing, the church of scientology covering it up as well, it's pretty damning.

It’s not about just sex, it’s about power primarily

I don’t think it would have taken 20 years had the powers that be of Scientology didn’t cover his tracks

They didn't wait 20 years to come forward - that's how long it took to get LAPD to do anything about it. First victim went to police a year after it happened - went to the church first, per their rules.

Read the article man… DA changed things up from the mistrial and used non-Scientology witnesses to show his shady AF behavior towards women.

Correct. I read the OP. That’s enough.

Maybe this didn’t happen in this particular case, and that’s good. But this does happen. It’s scary how easy it is for a woman or coached child to make unprovable allegations against a man and have him jailed. Rarely any consequences for the false accuser.

No...they don't. It's the same for every rape case. They just stick to the same tag lines regardless of the evidence or accusations. Ironically, they almost always defend the rapist.

I guess Reefer Madness was right about marijuana cigarettes being the gateway to rape.
