You need to have a word with George Soros. He ain’t about that with his prosecutor campaign contributions.

when the case's lead investigator says this on the stand... you have to wonder why taxpayer money was wasted on trying this case

Fugitt never recommended that Perry be arrested the night he shot and killed Foster.

“There was a legitimate argument for self-defense,” Fugitt said.

What a fricking joke! The lead investigator said that!

If this man is found guilty......

KVUE

Looks like the jury got the case around 2:30 this afternoon looking at timestamps on tweets from the KVUE reporter who was in the courtroom for closing

seems like they deliberated until 8 PM (so... 5 hrs & 30 mins of deliberation today) and didn't come up with a verdict

some of the closing remarks made today...

quote:

The prosecution began with prosecutor Elizabeth Lawson showing a "roadmap" to analyze whether or not the shooting could be considered self-defense. Lawson claimed that Perry had to know protesters were in Downtown Austin that evening in 2020.

he HAD to know it? did you prove he definitely KNEW it?

quote:

Lawson posed the question, "What was Perry's intent when he drove toward the crowd?" She showed clues from his social media accounts featuring memes like "running over protesters" and also being "afraid of being attacked by people of this certain movement who compare his people to termites." Another post mentioned he might go to Dallas to shoot protesters.

The prosecution argued that he could have kept driving and did not have to stop his car and engage with the protesters.

"This is not a good shoot. Daniel Perry was not legally justified in using deadly force against Garrett Foster when he did, even in Texas, this isn't a good shot and we're going to ask you to consider that as you deliberate," Lawson said.

Prosecutor Guillermo Gonzalez closed the argument by claiming the trial is occurring because Perry chose to "blow a red light" and approach protesters.

"This case is about an age old story, since we all began walking on two feet. It's about a man who can't keep his anger under control," Gonzalez said.

Defense attorney Clint Broden then began the defense's closing arguments. He mentioned that there is no way know the true angle of Foster's rifle no matter how much the photos are studied.

In regard to Perry's social media posts, Broden argued they were posted at least a month before the shooting happened. Broden asked the jury to put themselves in Perry's position with protesters surrounding the car.

"He knows, two-tenths of a second, to make sure he could get home to his family that night, if we're honest about ourselves, we would not just sit there and pray," Broden claimed.

Defense attorney Doug O'Connell claimed while Perry had social media posts warning protesters to not go near him or his car, O'Connell claimed that that was "all the government has.," and that it does not prove that Perry is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

"If you do decide to carry an assault rifle in our community walking down the street, and you point that at somebody, you are responsible for everything that happens after that. Daniel Perry had no choice," O'Connell said.

Thoughtcrime only applies if you practice wrongthink.

You can insist you will kill whitey or schoolchildren and it will be “motive unknown” or “justified” depending on what tribe you belong to.

a number of cases should... Rittenhouse way up there... the fact that part of the prosecution of Rittenhouse was a drone video way down the street where a figure of about 3 pixels total was being argued by prosecutors as Kyle turning aggressively to the protestors... and the judge allowing it... it's just crazy how they argue these cases and what the state will latch onto to try and put people in jail instead of what's indisputable

This disturbs me. From what I've read about this case, in my opinion, the jury should have returned a "not guilty" verdict within the time needed to take a vote.

Yeah, neither Perry or Rittenhouse should have ever been indicted. Clear cut cases of self defense in both incidents imo.

Another note on the spin the justice system and media put on these things: look no further than the Nashville shooting last week by a trans person. Reverse the roles where a Christian goes into a school or some facility for trans people and there would still be wall to wall coverage of how it was a hate crime and how they're being targeted by ultra right wing religious zealots. Biden would issue an executive order making it a hate crime to voice a negative opinion of the lgbt community. Congress would be putting forward legislation like the anti-lynching bill they shoved through a while back making it like super double illegal to lynch someone. It's all pure insanity with the blatant double standards that are blatantly out in the open. We are all just supposed to accept it. Change your beliefs and submit...or go to prison.

I know the Rittenhouse case took like 3 days of jury deliberations to come up with a not guilty verdict... but that was a bit more convoluted case than this 1 is

The fact we're nearing a whole work day (8 hours) of deliberations and no verdict is seriously concerning

Isn't it just weird that the defense has to get these experts in, then the state questions the credibility of them? Shouldn't the state not want to send an innocent man to prison for murder? Shouldn't they also be hiring experts to analyze this data, if it is important? Our justice system shouldn't put priority on prosecutors winning their cases no matter the truth. It should be about getting it right.

It’s not hard to understand when you realize the judicial system in this county has been infected with the cancer of radical leftists who seek to use the judicial system as a tool to further their radical leftist political agenda.

Nah, if anything it was more clear cut. They were chasing an armed teenager who didn’t start shooting until he was hit and knocked down. The mere fact that it went to court was a farce.

It's far easier to get someone innocent in prison than to take the loss for finding the truth.

Whelp, hang it up folks. If that was murder....you better think long and hard about where you go and what you're doing. You have no right to defend yourself in some places in this country.

Incredible.

Warning to anyone who carries a weapon for protection. If you live in a blue area and ever need to defend yourself, your fate will be decided by people who all hate you.

I think another takeaway for everyone should be: Always remember that anything you say on social media, in text messages, on TigerDroppings, etc. can come back to haunt you.

From everything I’ve read I don’t think this was murder. I don’t think it should have even gone to trial. But I also don’t think he gets convicted if not for the messages about potentially having to shoot a protester.
