This is typically what the left does these days. They go off the deep end, then everyone not on board with them is considered Hitler. Left of center Democrats are considered the right these days. That's how they justify moronic statements like the OP.

You are so dumb it's not even worth responding to.

That's even less evidence than your stupid linked article.

You must be about 17 years old, huh?

Just flat out denial in the face of proof.

I'll be your leftie if it means you get bored and take your inanity with you.

This article is blindingly stupid. He’s using different ranges for different issues but then trying to draw overall conclusions from what is effectively different measurements.

For instance, he uses polling data from immediately after massacres in an attempt to extrapolate favorable data on gun control. Other than the fact that this data is pretty useless given Americans tendency to react emotionally to everything, the parameters are, at most, two decades. However, he reaches back as far as the 1930s when discussing tax policy (and ignorantly uses the top progressive rate instead of effective rates.)

This reads like a paper written by a C sophomore majoring in Poli Sci.

You should listen to the podcast. Dan Carlin (who is apparently a liar) states it pretty clearly and explains why he believes the country has moved to the right starting with the Cold War.

Could be. It was just the first thing that showed up. I shouldn't have even bothered to attempt to explain myself since I know they're not going to listen regardless.

Yet you said it reflected your views on the subject so much that it was sufficient to represent your exact thoughts

I already said I’d get around to it when I had time.

He doesn’t have to be a liar, he could be stupid. But more than likely he’s a liar that will throw a little bit of controversy into his podcasts to get some hits.

If you think he’s stupid or a liar, then I’m surprised you listen to him.

No. I clearly replied to the ridiculous points in the article. You seem confused.

It honestly is baffling to me that this guy really believes that this country is moving further right. I don’t need to post obscure articles to explain something that is pretty evident in all matters of life.

Which is very easy to say to people like you who I know don't bother reading the source.

Since I'm so wrong in all of this, why don't ya'll show me how I'm wrong? I'm open to learning.

I think it's far more likely that he's honest and far more educated on the concept than you and that you just don't like the conclusions he's drawn.

So you knew I would have that response before you selected the article which is why you selected it then said it was representative of your opinions?

I haven’t listened to this podcast, but anyone that has listened to Dan should know that he is very anti surveillance/police state. Listen to his Cold War podcasts and he rails on how we used fear mongering to give up our liberties.

I assume this is the basis of his opinions.

Would you say that candidates for public office are trying to get people to vote for them?

If you answered yes, did you watch the recent Democrat party debates?

That’s another thing they talk about. One person’s far right is another person’s far left. People can’t even agree on what is right or left anymore. And they illustrate this argument well by discussing who “gets” to be called Nazis.

Nazis

This word is starting to have zero meaning these days. It’s thrown out there so much like “racist”

I’m convinced these people have no idea what these words mean.
