A few weeks ago there was a story floating around about a smal town in Nebraska voting not to allow a Tyson plant there. They got called racist because the plant was going to bring in 1800 Ethiopians to a town of 600.

Got a buddy who works for one of the most productive chicken plants out there (Peco), heard nothing of this sort. At least the one here isn't like that.

I can't imagine this is not a -very- sensationalized story.

I sure hope my wife doesn't see this. I'll have to grill her fish while I grill the rest of the family chicken.

I mean, who doesn't want to be outnumbered overnight 3 to 1 by African Muslims?

What could go wrong?

Idk, this seems odd. First, how does a company think they can do this? Second, why does a grown person continue to work at place where they have to wear a diaper in case they may have to use the restroom?

Although I'm not advocating worker abuse, if the workers felt they were being abused they could just quit and find another job.

they complained that sometimes they were only given 10 minutes to use the bathroom. I'm just saying, if I got to shite so bad I'm debating wearing a diaper, 10 minutes is plenty of time.

They don't, but an anonymous poll gives them leverage without fear of retribution

I imagine the turnover is pretty high at these places. They are also probably not pulling employees with marketable resumes.

A lot of these places hire illegals who would probably be afraid to come forward. Even legal immigrant workers might be afraid that complaining could get their work visa pulled.

Ethiopia is actually a majority Christian nation with 66% belonging to some sort of Christianity (mostly Orthodox and Protestant), so it's unlikely that all 1800 would be Muslim.
As an aside, Ancient Ethiopia (Aksum) was one of the first countries to have Christianity as a state religion.

Typical tone-deaf reply. These plants locate in remote rural areas just so they'll be the only ball game in town.
