People always say this, but I must just be not picky with cities. All I need is a decent amount of good restaurants and nice places to drink. Mix in access to good concerts and a few festival type things a year, and I’m set.

Every place in TX > any place in LA
San Antonio area is the best of the three large metros. Close to the beach and fishing, outdoor activities of many types and the least amount of ghetto behavior. The property crime is quite annoying in many parts of the urban area, that is the big drawback

Yeah different strokes and all. Not everyone would be happy in Chicago, and I think the things big cities offer (other than jobs) decline in importance with age for many.

Ever been to Los Angeles???

Just came in here to say FART WORTH.
Having come from Nashville, Dallas is pretty solid. Weather is pretty similar with better springs and falls. Summer and winter are about equal but not as humid or long lasting cold. Golf is miles better.
If you can’t find shite to do or good places to eat, you are in fact, a loser or live in some place that isn’t even Dallas. Sorry, South Oklahoma that’s connected by a road to Dallas isn’t Dallas. If you’re in the North 635 loop, livin’ is damn good. 15 minutes to everything you could ever need.
Outdoors and clean water scene isn’t great but that’s half of America so whatever.

I think that's your personal bias. I have met countless people my age..
Old.....that raised their kids in the burbs and have now moved into the city in my area to enjoy life. My neighbor's are in their 70s and tell me they feel lucky to live in a great neighborhood with so much stuff within a 5 minute drive. Same with my other neighbor in his 80s who still plays music gigs around town. Even living in a big city, in the right neighborhood it feels like a small town. There a a few areas of Dallas that have that quality

I love these troll threads b/c they bring out the Dallas Chamber Of Commerce.
Dallas is huge. Obviously there is a lot of shite to do.

There's plenty of shite wrong with Dallas just like any big city and there are better big cities than Dallas It's the OPs take on Dallas that I don't agree with.

Does not compute
Also, how does it have zero culture if there’s a million different ethnic groups in there? None of them have any festivals, restaurants, or any other fun activities at all? They don’t decorate their sections of town? Absolutely nothing culture-wise??

Biggest negative is the weather and too much keeping up the Joneses but as far as a massive city not bad place to live

I live in New Braunfels and love it but they are building 1200 sf matchbox houses at an alarming rate so the thing that is missing, trashy criminals, will be here soon
That’s unfortunate. I’ve always heard that’s a nice place. Maybe I should visit sooner than later.

Dallas is a pile of concrete.

Dallas is way better than Houston but Texas just sucks in general.

Just wait till the Moslems complete the take over.
You'll have all the culture you want in your no-go zone.

Where is Dallas do you live? I live in East Dallas and have the opposite opinion although sure, traffic is bad if you have to drive at rush time. Otherwise its fairly easy to get around. I am friends with immigrants and americans and americans that are not white so maybe those people don't want to interact with you.
Same in highland probably the most preferred part
