Besides the oil industry and proximity to Louisiana, why does everyone act like the Texas cities are Mecca, and ignore other growing/robust cities in the South?

I'd add Raleigh too

ETA - Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta and Nashville all have better weather and terrain at least for my taste.

Probably because of the people from Texas. They love Texas like no one else loves their home state

You can add Raleigh. Hell, add Asheville for the Austin hippie demographic as well.

Well I think for a fair comparison it should be the same # of cities. So if youre adding Raleigh you need to add San antonio.

But also a Round trip of the texas cities would be 10.5 hours vs 18 hours for the others so now its an unfair size of territory.

Atlanta almost sinks the second group as awesome as Nashville and Charlotte are.

They're both in competition though.

Maybe because so many here live in La or TX. I'll bet the UGA board barely mentions La or Texas

No shite. What he said^

Most people in here are much closer to the first group

I like both groups. Except Atlanta. Don't lump Atlanta with Nashville and Charlotte. It's a dump compared to those two

I love the whole south

Because all I know is Texas. Never lived anywhere else.

Also, my family made much of their money from oil and gas.

I may go to school in Tennessee, and then I will be more familiarized with that area.

Most Louisianans probably spend more time in Texas than Tenn/NC/GA

Nashville sucks minority ball sacks, and Atlanta is a headache. But yeah on Charlotte, for the most part. And frick Texas.

Because when people move to Texas they become Texans and they are very very proud of their home state on here. Now if they will only stop pulling for LSU and start pulling for a school located in their beloved state of Texas.

Spent a significant amount of time in Nashville, lived in both Atlanta and Charlotte. Atlanta... assuming that the metro is included, as far as business and quality of life goes, is better.

It's pretty crazy to call Atlanta a dump considering all of the development and growth going on around here. I mean, if Atlanta is a dump, Nashville is definitely a dump but with less amenities

Atlanta has the best public transit of the three, but yeah....
