Maybe if your kid is the next Bryce Harper, but not many 1-year old's can catch.

That’s fair, if you do it right. I’ve seen way too many kids over coached and overthinking everything. Too many dads out there reliving their glory days thru junior. They think if only they had the right coach at a young age they woulda pitched game 7 in the World Series.

OT answer: make sure your next kid has a black father

Real answer: I hit my kid so many times in the face and chest throwing to him. They will start using the glove. But like suggested, a power t position and have them bring the ball back, I mean before they throw it the arm is back well past the ears, otherwise you will have a ten year old shot putting the ball.

When mine were tots, wife and I had them throw tennis balls at stuff. We taught them properly at about 3-4.

mine was 5 months last week. Just started throwing the week before

Honestly you either have it or you don't with throwing. Fielding and hitting can be taught. Throwing is a natural movement.
