Dads....At what age and how did you teach your boy to throw?

My little boy is starting tball this spring and he and I throw outside a bit. He keeps forgetting what foot to step with and loses interest in about 15 minutes. Once he loses interest, we stop and head back in.
What are some other things I can try and other things that we can do to improve on some baseball 101 fundamentals?

5 if I remember. Wrong foot cure, turn him sideways like a pitcher throwing from the stretch. He'll catch on real quick.

My kid had a pitching coach and personal trainer by his 3rd birthday.
Currently in 9 year old travel ball, Yankees scouts were looking at him last tournamnet

Is he even interested in it? If not let him find something he’s interest in and work towards that.

The key is to get out there and play with him..... everyday. As soon as he can walk start playing fetch with him. Even if for only 10-15 mins, he will figure it out.
Don’t worry about fundamentals till later on. Let him develop the motor skills, coordination, and love for playing Ball first

At that age, use lots of patience and encouragement. He may not be developmentally ready or interested yet.

Young kids respond better to playing copy cat then they do following instructions. It’s why the 2nd child is often more advanced at a younger age then older brother. Just let them play, they will figure it out.

This.... I guess that’s kinda what I was saying not so eloquently earlier. Still, playing everyday is important rather than watching Mickey Mouse reruns all day

Mine is 7 now. Started about 5. We have a baseball sized hackey sack for in the house and to teach him how to protect his face.
At 5 it’s a lost cause with focus. Each kid is different. Like training a cat. When he loses interest, he loses interest.

My boy started throwing early...like super early...hell I have him on video with his first word being "ball" holding a football.
Down side we get a lot of broken stuff in the house..My wife had to put up all of her nice breakables up. He throws everything he picks up.

when I was about 4 I was already begging my dad to go toss any ball with me for hours outside. I actually did have a kid on my tball team that my dad still jokes about to this day. was more interested in picking flowers than playing... kid turned out gay. sorry bout your son
