Well were do I start,
I would like to thank everybody for their kind and suportive words over the last few days it is truly amazing. I also apologize that there are so many kind words that I have not yet replied to, so instead of wearing out another screen or keyboard I would like to offer my thanks in one big message.
This week has been an example of how social media should be used, it has also been an example of how it shouldn't be.
If we can help other precious lives from being lost and the suffering of so many, then Doll's life will not be wasted. I know for some suicide is considered cowerdly but I guarantee those people wouldn't have half the strength that my precious little angel had, Doll had the strength to do what she thought she had to do to escape the evil in this world. However unfortunately Dolly will never know the great pain and emptiness left behind.
In saying this I have a couple of challenges,
Firstly if by some chance the people who thought this was a joke and made themselves feel superior by the constant bullying and harassment see this post, please come to our service and witness the complete devastation you have created.
The second is for the strong ones, lets stop the bullies no matter where, but especially in our kids, as the old saying goes. You will never know what have untill it's gone.

social media should come with an age limit. Very little good comes from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or whatever else they come up with.

Agreed, but how can you tell kids that these days? 10 year olds have smart phones and practically unlimited access to social media apps...and these companies WANT them to grow up on their platforms and develop a dependency on them.

I recently found out my ex wife allowed my 10 year old son to register for a Facebook and Facebook messenger account. She was shocked when I absolutely flipped my shite about it.

Parenting. It all begins with opening up a dialogue with your kids about how NOT to be an a-hole.
We have to teach out kids everything on how to potty train, how to engage, etc.
What makes people think we don't have to teach them how to not be dickheads.
Just cause they act one way at home, doesn't mean they act correctly at school.
Get in there.

Granted I don't have kids, but it's simple: Don't give it to them. I may budge if and when I have one, but I wouldn't get my kid a cell phone until they're 13 and that would just be a go phone, and then not give them a smart phone until they're 17. frick the peer pressure.

i appreciate that people post these on here. as a father of a 2 year old son, these stories reinforces the need for me to be as proactive in his life as possible. I'm sure I did my fair share of bullying as a child, and it remains my biggest concern for him moving forward.

Easy. You just tell them. You be the parent and enforce the rules. Kids want and need boundaries. It's up tot he parents to set and consistently enforce them.

This, I have a 5 year old daughter and while I haven't decided on concrete age limits for social media she won't be getting on any of these platforms for quite some time.

I do and I agree with you. In the end they are the child and you are the parent. You and I are probably going to get a lot of flack for this position, but it will be from the parents who let their kids dictate what they do, not the other way around.

Man I could not agree more. You fail as a parent if you do not teach your kids how to treat other people. Most of the teaching actually comes from their observations of how you yourself treat other people / talk about other people, etc. But actually talking to them about this issue directly is important too. Way too many parents take the "I need to let my child be their own person learn their own way, my child can do no wrong if they just be themselves" attitude to the extreme. When they are young it's your responsibility to show them and tell them how to act.
