there have been many people who spent 20 plus years in prison when their convictions were highly questionable. so 1 out 10? 1 out 20?
1 out of 10 is fine
Most of these “he didn’t do it” cases the guy has killed multiple times but the one murder they try him on the cops forget to dot an i on the report and now he’s innocent
If it’s something like we’re not 100% sure if Andy dufrene shot his wife and jody i say let him go because that should be legal

Bro, where are you getting your info?? He was guilty. I’m glad he got out of prison and led a good life at the end, but 30 years prior, he was a murderer.

This is "why we shouldn't have the death penalty"
Do you have a sister who might work in the Tennessee penitentiary system as a Physician...and who cant seem to start an IV in every death penalty case? Anti death penalty people can find some creative ways to show how "wrong"it is....whether it's white knighting an obviously guilty dude, or botching a couple executions on purpose.

You use these words so nonchalantly. Have you actually dug in and analyzed the issues in the case, or did you let the NAACP feed you headlines?
Legit question because I haven't researched it. But these cases seem to have more than meets the eye more often than not

Yes.

And you fail to give any analysis

Something, something, racism.

The NAACP said old Curtis could have a 5th year of eligibility, but he died before getting in.
Or is this the racist NAACP that funds the Klan?

If this case interests you, or if you are a fan of true crime podcasts, season 2 of the “In the Dark” podcast by Madeleine Baran covers Flowers’ ordeal. It is probably the best podcast I have ever listened to.
I knew this thread would be about that dumb bitch and her podcast when I opened it.

I have always had a hard time with this because of the amount of innocent people our government has killed - without public confession or hard dna evidence, I really can't support it. I'm not exactly saying they should live their lives in luxury on our dime either. We do need to build more prisons and make them as mentally uncomfortable as possible.
The prosecution was pretty bad in the Flowers case, but its not purely based on racism like the whore from NPR says.
Prosecution was just a dangerous combination of lazy and dumb.

Have to hand it to his defense attorney. He did his job.
Did they ever find the real killer?

Again, if you listen to the podcast there is another likely suspect, but that podcast was so twisted it's hard to take it seriously.
8 episodes and I don't even recall it actually establishing an alibi for Flowers.

Curtis Flowers was suspected after police learned that he had been fired from the store 13 days prior to the murders. He also owed Bertha Tardy $30 for a cash advance on his paycheck.
Certain eyewitnesses said they saw Flowers near the front of the store on the morning of the shootings. No gun was found, but bullets from the scene were determined to be the same caliber as a gun that had been stolen from Flowers's uncle's car the same day as the murders. The Mississippi Crime Lab found that bullets fired previously from the uncle's gun matched the ballistics evidence of bullets found at the murder scene.
The prosecution said that bloody footprints found at the crime scene were a size 10½, the same as that worn by Flowers. They were identified as Fila's Grant Hill style, which witnesses said Flowers had been wearing that morning.
Forensic evidence revealed gunpowder residue on Flowers's hand
He stated he had simply stopped going to the job and did not know he had been fired. He said he was wearing Nike shoes that day, the clothes he was wearing did not match the description given by eyewitnesses, and the particulate matter on his hands was due to his having handled fireworks the day before the murders
