back in high school, inexperienced me and this ole gal who got around quite a bit were gettin busy in the back seat of my dad's buick, she picks just the right moment and whispers, oh god please kiss me where it smells, so I jumped back in the front seat, fired that big boy up and drove her to Beaumont...

Heard a guy say that if he was ever diagnosed with cancer, he would move back to Port Arthur...said living there was the longest days in his life!
One good thing about Beaumont is Tia Juanita's Fish Camp - their smoked boudin quesadilla is awesome!

I grew up in Buttmont.....and actually had a great childhood there. There are some decent parts of Beaumont in the west end....Phelan Rd, Dowlen Rd, Lucas, Gladys, Delaware, Major....thats where I ran when I was there. If you're there, get a Beaumont Beef Link for lunch at Patillos or Broussard's. Dont bother with the other BBQ they make though.

Forest Park.....that's how old I am. I was in the last graduating class before it became Westbrook....when that happened most of the white people moved to Lumberton and points north or maybe to Nederland and Port Neches. Been forever since I've been back so I don't know for sure.

I drive from BR to Houston all the time and have to pass through Beaumont and it's honestly a toss up between Beaumont and Lake Charles for biggest shithole of a city. But I give it to Beaumont. At least Lake Chuck has casinos.

Fun fact of the day. Houston is the the U.S. capital of oil only because the higher ups weren't comfortable with all of the prostitution and drinking in Beaumont after Spindletop created the Texas Oil boom, so they decided to set up their base of operations in Houston instead of Beaumont.

I'll take the no state taxes and live in Beaumont any day over Lake Charles. An extra 25k goes a long way saving in state taxes.

Another fun fact. The original spindletop well is still producing.

Wow that's crazy. I wonder how much oil it produces per day.

A few barrels I think. Not much.
