Tell them to fend for themselves.

They have too much pride. Let’s kick them down a couple notches.

I’m tired of these peasants trying to tell us what to do.

Cuba's electrical grid has suffered a total collapse,

Is NY City next? Maybe Mamdani should take a trip to Havana in order to understand his philosophy.

They are still a communist government that is hostile to the U.S. and an enemy of ours. That hasn’t changed since the 50s.

They’re actually one of the only true communist governments remaining in the entire world. You like being buddy buddy with commies?

The embargo on Cuba is something we all pretty much grew up with.

Does anyone truly have some vengeance against them still or is it just habit at this point?

Didn't take long for American public opinion to shift back to world police. Yes, let's "liberate" Iranians and Venezuelans and Cubans! And let's not even have congress vote on it!

An island 90 miles away is not exactly "world police". It's more "looking out for our vital interests".

I guess it bothers me a little personally although the capitalism has it's flaws as well. So if communist have a problem with capitalism they have ammo to prove it. I don't think communism works longterm and would be better to let the system take it's course.

Politically that's their business and I prefer to stay out the business of other countries. I'm not a globalist who needs to force my views on others though.

Thats how you wind up with something akin to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

We put missiles in Turkey first. Also sanctioned Cuba before that.

So yes, we started fricking with them first then are now crying about how evil they are.
