Cruise pricing question

Ok so I am stuck going on a cruise with a family business thing. So save all the cruise trash comments.
Where is the best place to book a cruise for pricing? Any other booking/pricing tips would be appreciated.

I don't think where you buy will matter much more than a few dollars. It's more about advance buying

Go to a TA they won't charge a commission, usually will get you the same deal as online, and give you perks for booking with them. Went on one cruise and will never go back. Norwegian Getaway is the Walmart of the seas.

Find an empty barrel. Place all the cash inside it you to intend to spend. Burn it.
Doing that would be a significantly better use of both your time and money.

There are great deals to be had by shopping late. When the ships aren't filled up close to sail time, they tend to offer deep discounts.

Find a cruise only travel agent. They will give you the best price and OBC.

Cruises are well worth it if you go with the right people. All in all it's probably cheaper than renting a decent condo on the beach for a week.

When is the cruise?
If you are a good ways out, I suggest booking directly with the cruise line as they will allow you to get price drops so if the price goes down after you book then your amount owed adjusts and if you paid in full you receive on board credit.
If you are close to sail date then book however you want, a TA may get you a deal that comes with some on board credit or a free dinner in a specialty restaurant.
I don't suggest TA's for booking far out because many of them don't allow for price drops because that lowers their commission.
If you want to take a big risk then book last minute, prices can drop drastically within the last 30 days or so but the ship could also be full and you may not get a room or the price of the few rooms left could be high. Depends on time of year and stuff.
Edit: If you give me cruise line, ship name and date of sailing then I can tell you what the price trend has been for the sailing.
