They did him a favor by banning him for life from the cruise line.

This is what’s wrong with everything.

Probably trying to make him pay a fee for whatever resources they used to fish him out.

Probably because if he died or something then there would be an article about it which is bad for business. And they need to discourage that behavior as much as possible.

What else are they gonna sue? Gravity? The Ocean?

He wasn’t hurt.

When I was on my high school senior trip we took a cruise to the Caribbean.. In one of the ports there were some guys from the ship crew swimming and diving off the bow of the boat.

A bunch of the high school guys climbed up the mooring lines and did the same. There were so many folks diving that they began to climb on top of a little guard house thing at the end of the pier and dive from there. Some other passengers not affiliated with the trip joined in.

Not a frick was given.

Is he stupid for jumping, or for going on a cruise in the first place? I'd think the answer would be both.

Eta: So the Cruise company is seeking legal action for something that happened outside of US waters. How does that work?

ETA2:I was asking a simple jurisdiction question. Would they file charges in the Bahamas or the US?
