How many times exactly?
Same location? Give some details.

But the fob key will not open the fricking door when the battery is dead
Of course it will, you just didn’t know how to do it

Did some quick research:
After, I swapped in a new battery and brought it into Lexus. They diagnosed the problem and told me that it was because there is a misalignment in the locking mechanism so the mechanical key wasn't latching onto anything.
Or I also read someone may have tried to fix the lock and messed up the alignment.
Or it could be a swapped out door or lock and the key won’t work.
They may fix it for free if it’s a manufacturing defect if the alignment is off. Ask em.

When you used the stick key did you pull on the little latch at the front bottom of the door handle?
Looks like he paid someone $150 to do that for him.

wasn’t even sure WTF was going on at that point, and the manufacturer wanted me to have it towed into the dealership, frick that)
So I had to call pop-a-lock to unlock the damn car. From a dead battery

Just have your husband knock the window out with his purse. The fact that tou had to call someone, and pay, means you should turn your man card back in.

Y'all are some meanie-butts in this thread...
I don't have a Lexus, but I am going to look up what to do if my 2025 Yoda dies- never even considered it might be a problem with a very unobvious solution. Thankfully my other rides are old and a key works in them without any magic steps or voodoo.

So most (all?) manufacturers make those pop out keys interchangeable so if you buy the car used you can have a fob with a key inside it that doesn’t fit the car door. This happened to my wife one time. Her dumb arse didn’t strap in our two year old and went in to get something leaving him in our Honda odyssey. The little goblin closes the sliding door, with his baby sister inside the car, and locks all the doors. Well he doesnt know how to unlock them and then the car goes into some kind of anti-theft mode or some shite and disables all the electrical components with my two year old and baby inside the car. Here’s the kicker my wife goes to get them out with the pop out key that’s inside the fob (I had to explain to her that you can do this) and we realize at this moment that it doesn’t fit. The people who owned the car before us must have swapped out a different car’s key inside the fob. Major product defect that the manufacturers allow you to mix up keys in the fobs in my opinion.

My wife’s Lexus is this way and YouTube should be your first go to.
You also have to be careful where to connect the jumper cables or you’ll fry the computer.

In OP defense, I had this happen on 2015 F150. I tied using physical key and it wouldn’t unlock the door with a dead battery either. Luckily I was able to pop the hood with a long screwdriver so I could charge battery.
Not sure if my manual lock just happened to be broken and I never noticed, or if it actually needs power. But the physical key most definitely would not unlock the truck at the time.

I’d rather be 5’6 than too stupid to operate a key or an alcoholic like you and the OP

Ya know- if you look it up, others have had these issues with their newer cars.
Maybe not people of your stature, but OP is hardly alone in this.

Had this happen on my 13 F150. My issue was that the lock mechanism hadn't been used in so long it wasn't turning all the way. Found some others had the problem and just trying the lock over and over would eventually free it up.... it did after 50 or so turns.
