Finally they'll be able to hire all of those American workers that have been so discriminated against, right? All those white people who have had dreams of working in the crawfish laborer industry…

Poor crawfish mafia. Guess we'll have to ask the Feds for relief payments again.

Well, why is there a shortage of H2-B visas?

I’ll either get them from Louisiana or I’ll get them from China….take your pick.

How many pounds could an experienced peeler do per hour?

10? 20? 40? 60?

I don't know but it's alot. I thought I could peel fast until I went in there.

For that price. Any job in America will get done by Americans for the right price. But we won't peel crawfish for $12 an hour. Does that seem like a fair wage to you?

STFU, bitch. I enforced federal immigration law for over a decade. H2B immigrants can bring over spouses and dependents under 21. And guess what- when their wives have children on US soil- AND THEY DO IT EVERY DAY- a new American citizen is created, with full access to taxpayer funded social programs.

Absolutely. They will likely go up in price.

Seasonal agricultural workers have come here since time immemorial. But they aren’t all leaving and any kids they make here are automatically never leaving.

The wages have been stated multiple times in here and they are way more than $12/hour

Just goes to show us how low the qualifications are to work for federal immigration

No they won’t - just like they never actually do as the season goes along
Another dumb OT myth

Should make live crawfish cheaper as demand for them will plummet

For a job the only skill you need is to have eyes and fingers, $12.00 sounds like a lot. After thinking about it, ou don't even need eyes. I could peel crawfish blind folded.

How much should someone that peels crawfish get paid?

I was thinking whole Crawfish by the sack would be priced at a decent amount while peeled crawfish sold in frozen bags would be as high as kite.

Someone needs to invent an auto crawfish peeler like JM Lapeyre invented a shrimp peeler.

Doesn't matter whether it's $12 or $24 or $50 an hour. The market will reach equilibrium once the labor is valued at the appropriate wage. Relying on subverting the market with poor/slave labor hurts American labor.

two, as has happened in the past, they will fill up tractor-trailer loads of these crawfish, send ‘em down to Mexico, get ‘em peeled and bring ‘em back.”

So it's cheaper to load them up, ship them to Mexico, pay workers slave wages there, and ship them back...than to pay legal workers here?

That only is true if supply on the labor market wasn’t already subverted by welfare/medicaid/disability

Yea because to find 80-100 people per plant to do the job consistently for 3 months would take $75/hour
