The ones that make it as far as Gonzales are usually driving crew cabs.

I hear them around me sometimes attacking and killing what I assume to be deer. It’s loud and lasts like 1-2 minutes.

I see coyotes almost every day in the back of the cow pasture. My young Aussie is very alert to them and sounds off when they are out. It is odd to see them during the heat of the day.

Maybe he identifies as a Jackal.

Right! We need more Road Runners!

They all all over our hood and cams in BR. They travel the creeks, make pit stops in the hoods at night and destroy the neighborhood cats unfortunately...

No but our neighborhood has gotten some pics of a pair of beautiful foxes wandering through backyards in the back of the subdivision.

local animal control said owls will do that. They’ll eat brains as a snack, and apparently some owls have no problems with taking out cats.

I can attest to that being possible. Years ago I was hunting in a climbing stand. Got there well before sunrise and just as it started getting light I saw a possum walking through the woods. Suddenly an owl swooped in and caught him. Owl flew to a tree 30 yards away and had breakfast. Kinda disturbing to hear the owl eating the still alive possum.

I think a possum and a cat are probably about the same size...

Do coyotes behead cats?

I've seen a bunch in my neighborhood, I'm close to a bayou. Caught a pair on camera in 2020 chasing a cat up my driveway, found the cat dead the next morning in the back yard, albeit head still attached.

Saw this one last August:

I saw a big arse owl attack a cat once while I was on an early morning run. That cat didn’t stand a chance. Damn nature, you scary.

I have a red tailed hawk around every day along with a few owls every night. The owls are big and you can see them perched a bit before sundown.

The hawk and owl sometimes swoop down towards my bulldog but she's 70 pounds and they just like to tease her. But the outside cats I have don't get messed with. Not sure why. My dog does want to fight coyotes though. That's why I shoot them when I can.

Bears, wolves, coyotes..

There are no stray dogs or cats on the streets. If Fido gets out, he may become dinner.
