Is this actually a thing? I've always heard about it. Does it actually work?

Seems like it would hurt the cows, obviously.

I think it probably started as a joke to get dumbasses to run full blast into a 1/2 ton beast.

No. People that tell you they went cow tipping are liars.

Number 1 cows don’t sleep standing up.
Number 2 cows have incredible balance for their size.
Number 3 they weigh a lot. And you aren’t going to push a cow over.

So basically you walk up to a standing, awake, cow that weighs 1200lbs and try to push them over. They can easily .hold their balance.

Not really. Cattle don't sleep much. My grandfather kept a few cows on his place and they would come running when they heard the chain on the gate. If you do slip through the barbed wire they might not know you are coming but you aren't tipping a 1000lb cow.

Total myth.

1) Cows sleep laying down....don't be an idiot
2) I've just been introduced to Snipe Hunting. Its a lot of fun and you do it in the woods at night, like hog hunting. Feel free to come anytime you want!!!

I went cow tipping in high school...never tipped a cow though. For that matter I am not sure we ever saw one.
