Covington teacher arrested for inappropriate contact with student

Christian Turgeau was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, a felony.
The student reported the incident to school administrators, who contacted the police department. No details of what happened between Turgeau and the student were released.

I always get blasted for this but there’s something not right to me about a grown man teaching anything below high school

It turns into a self reinforcing feedback loop. There's a stigma, so normal men don't go into it, which leaves the creeps and pedos, etc. Not unlike the Catholic church's prohibition on married priests.
