You are right they are Christian and they are Brothers.

Technically they are Benedictine Monks at St. Joseph Abbey. Worth a tour.

Why more parishes aren't like St. Tam is something I can't grasp. I guess it's rich NOLA transplants from across the pond and they can pay for that.

Yes Lake Pontchartrain was dug out in the early 1900s.

All I can say about the Bouge Fayla bridge that local politicians must not have to make that evening commute or it would have been done by now. That job should have been done by Labor Day. They literally could get it done in less than a week if they wanted to put a big enough crew on it. Instead skeleton crew works once or twice a week. I guarantee it isn't even their B crew out there, As far as Covington the growth is crazy. Saint Tammany is supposed to have a moratorium on building new subdivisions but everywhere you look they are bulldozing land esp off 1077.

I worked at CCC when they opened the Cabana room next to the pool. Great place. Lots of kids.

Covington and especially Mandeville are exceptionally wealthy suburbs of the most commuter-heavy cities in the State

Mandeville, LA's median household income is around $89,122 (2023)

he median household income for Covington, Louisiana, is around $73,809,

Mandeville and Covington have some nice neighborhoods but have plenty of poor white trash (and gangbangers in Covington's case)

Those people are probably in Covington zip code but out of Covington proper. Right over the bridge where it turns into Collins Blvd. it gets kinda dumpy and it feels Iike it isn’t Covington per se.

Harry's Po-boys in Larose, LA is perfection and has been the gold standard for me since I had one 15 years ago.

I want to try a Bear's Poboy, the pictures online look good!

My sister lives in one of the neighborhoods (Old Covington) by the Bogue Falaya, we came down last year for Thanksgiving.

After living in DFW that area is awesome as far as the unique homes and trees / forest all around.

Covington is fine for people who can do without culture

Getting away from culture is one of Covington's prime selling points.
