Coming here because there’s a lot of mixed info online. For those who work with Covid or maybe have a toddler who’s tested positive, can you tell me about their symptoms and severity?

My three year old has been coughing for a couple days, no fever, was a little whiny but we felt it was because she was over tired while we were at the lake over the weekend. She also has some loose poops but then again, this often happens at the beach or lake because she can’t seem to not swallow the lake/ocean water.

I just know if I send her to school tomorrow they will freak out if she coughs more than once. I just hate to make a big deal out of what is probably a normal cold and wouldn’t even be asking this question if it weren’t for the hysteria surrounding the virus.

Do they shove the q tip up their nose? Have you seen anything serious in toddlers?

Is she running fever?

At my Grandpas nursing home they just stick q tip in nostril, it doesn’t get shoved to the back

Call her pediatrician right now for after hours/on call. I’ve never had diarrhea from a cold, and colds are contagious.

Like I said, nothing major but if I send her to school with an otherwise normal cold, I’ll be black listed and my whole house will probably have to quarantine for two weeks “out of an abundance of caution” because she has a cough.

A runny nose and cough? That’s 9 months out of the year.

No Fever.

If they don’t shove it to her brains I feel ok about the test for her. Otherwise it’ll probably traumatize her because when I got one I almost punched the nurse in her face, natural reflex, not because I was mad. Crap hurt

I get your concern. I'd kill for my child. Doesn't sound like Wuhan Epidemic, however.

No fever
Another poster on here said his daughter tested positive for Covid and didn’t have a fever just a stuffy nose.

Why would you let your toddler daughter stay sick and miserable without calling her doctor? Why would you send a sick child to school to risk getting other kids sick?

That is the bigger question.

She’s not miserable. She has diarrhea. I have that 6 days a week.

Where did I say she was sick and miserable? Jesus Christ. Read my posts.

She was fussy somewhat but she’s like that when she doesn’t sleep as much and gets worn out playing in the lake all day. I expressed a POSSIBLE symptom but it’s most likely what I said... she’s tired and bitchy. Which is normal.

I don’t think a miserable toddler would have played her arse off all weekend swimming and tubing. I’m just concerned about her cough and sending her to school during wuhan flu because of people kind of like yourself.

And what is the doctor gonna do? Be it cold or covid, he doesn't have any treatment.

Lot of posters with no kids trying to give advice up in here up in here.

It's hilarious to read posts from people without kids about kids and kids stuff.
