I cant imagine this is accurate. I had it/have it....and I would be shocked if my lungs showed anything. My sinuses? Yeah, wrecked.

Good question. My wife was sick as a dog with it, coughing, fever, the whole nine yards and did not get a chest xray.

If you can't see the absurd hyperbole in this statement, there may be no hope for you.

Exactly. The sample size has to be miniscule. And if you're getting a chest x-ray for an issue after having been asymptomatic, it seems highly likely you have some other issue besides covid.

It's a giant bag of confounding issues and biases (like UNhealthy subject bias). Totally irresponsible article.

What a load of horseshite. This just is not true. Like at all. Both my wife (no pics) and I tested positive with symptoms. On a follow up visit with our PCP two or three weeks after our 10 day quarantine, he ordered chest x-rays on both of us. "100% normal and nothing that shows any damage to your lungs. IMO y'all shouldn't worry about anything."- My PCP's words after reviewing our x-rays. Same from my children's pediatrician after my kids tested positive with no symptoms.

So completely fake, fear mongering article to promote the vaccine.

So your lungs can explode filling your entire chest cavity and you can still be asymptomatic? That’s sort of oddly encouraging if it were true.

My wife got covid with pneumonia and numerous chest xrays. She's fine.

I'll add to the n=1 results after my next chest CT. I had giant lymphoma tumors in mediastinum and lungs a few years ago and have periodic scans to check.

I'm now over my basically asymptomatic covid (a couple two tree days of nasal congestion) starting Jan 2. I'm gonna run today.

Nice knowing y'all.

This is what pisses me off about the media. They scream "Science!" whenever it suits the narrative they want to push, then turn right around and toss out fear porn left and right with absolutely no substantial, clinically verified basis of proof.

This woman just completed her residency in 2019 and is a freshly minted general surgeon probably a month or two removed from her fellowship.

Now, it's possible Covid can cause permanent lung damage that results in pulmonary issues post-recovery. (Afterall, a particularly bad infection of mumps in male children sometimes led to permanent testicular dame and later infertility). But that assessment and conclusion HAS to come from extensive peer reviewed clinical study conducted by long term experts in the field of pulmonology. A knee jerk reaction from some 29 year old in rural Texas is not going to cut it. But as long as the media finds someone to sing a tune they like...

This can't be true.. I am only 32, almost 33, and did have some breathing issues with COVID back in June though. Hit me the second week whereas the first week was just loss of smell/taste (which lasted a month+ and might still not be 100%).

This is an example of where you need to examine the source.

I don't want to imply that she's not learned or a competent surgeon. But she's not a pulmonary specialist who could have the expertise or experience to make such far-ranging claims.

How many asymptomatic patients are getting x-rays and how is a surgeon getting access to so many of them? IMO, her anecdotal statements see quite far-fetched.
