Government is all about $$$. Disregard D or R, sex, race, geography etc...it doesn't matter. There is waste and graft at the COA, because their budget is other people's money. (Tax dollars.) There is more waste and graft at the BR city level, because there is more money. There is even more waste and graft at the LA state level, because there is more money. The most waste and graft occurs at the federal level, because that is where the most money is.

This will never change.

ETA: As a taxpayer, I do enjoy it when the definerates get caught with their hand in the cookie jar, though.

That actually makes sense. This place wouldn't necessarily be helpful as a sole source... but paired with other platforms why not? There are a lot of people posting here from BR and surrounding areas. It's a good way to get a sense of what people are thinking.

Doesn't sound all that far-fetched when you think about it.

Pretty much.

JBE is at the mercy of the black caucus considering the demographics behind the Democrats in this state.

Taking the lead on attacking a connected individual would have cut his throat. Coming in now lets him handle things instead of AG Landry, who will undoubtably be worse for the Dems.

Gary Chambers 33 mins · I just ordered a Bevel trimmer. For no other reason than to support another black man in business. The company is owned by Tristan Walker. I saw the ad on social media, saw it was founded by a black man, pulled out my debit card and made the purchase. We as black people must become intentional with our dollar. The more money we circulate with other black people, the more we change the financial statistics concerning our community. I encourage you to join me and go purchase the trimmers. #BuyBlack

Just because it was made by a black guy? Damn the "Buy Black" thing is just one big scheme to screw over other black people. What a surprise. They blame whitey for taking all their money, but the truth is they're stealing from each other

The white guy who supplies Tristan with trimmers probably bought them for $25 and sold them to Tristan for $195.

The citizens of Baton Rouge deserve better than this BS. The black Metro Council members, along with Fat Gary and his gang, have taken a situation that's about right vs. wrong and turned it into a racial issue.
