re: Could you beat Ronda Rousey in a fight (ufc rules)?

Ronda could literally punch a big guy in his face as hard as she can 10 straight times and he would smile at her. Then he would bitch slap her sending her 5 feet backwards knocking her out cold. This is real life.
Some of you have been watching to many movies.

I am 5'7" - 140 & 29 years old. The only training I've had is boxing. I know absolutely nothing about UFC - watched it a few times, but know anything about their respected fighting styles, etc...
...Not saying I wouldn't get punched, but in the end, I can't see her "beating" me.

I was going at it from more of the Judo angle. No person male or female with elite level martial arts skills would go head up with someone who has a big size advantage. So if he thinks he could take Rousey out with a bull rush then he should be able to take out someone with her equal martial arts skill at the same weight.

Yeah I know I was trolling. It would be funny if she did beat his arse on that ultimate fighter series. The perfect time would have been after she flipped Tate off after the rock climbing contest

quote:Good point. A typical woman has a 6.5" wrist vs 7.5" for a man and, since we keep saying bigger man, she's probably looking at a guy with an 8" wrist.
How big are her hands? She's a 5'7" 135 lb female so I would imagine they would be tiny. One of the most important things in grappling/wrestling is wrist control. Do you think she can even get her hands around my wrists and squeeze them tight enough to suck them to her body?
Interestingly, average female hand size is about 6.7 inches meaning, just enough to wrap another woman's wrist but small enough that she wouldn't even close it fully around a large man's wrist.
This is NOT an insignificant reality.

Since this is the OT, i'll say that i could be on all fours and let her put me in a headlock to start the fight, and i'd still win.
I've got 125lb on her, and i'm still athletic.

I can't imagine being the size of the average female or possibly smaller!

lol. unless you have serious martial arts or boxing training, your strength or athleticism would mean nothing. She would very easily dodge any joke windup of a punch any clowns here would attempt. It would be a brutal end to the fight against any man without some serious training in martial arts/boxing.

If this guys thinks he bull rush someone and taken them down based on their size alone the in his mind sex and skill are totally irrelevant which is far from the truth.
The wild card is the elite martial arts skills she has. Her stand up game is fairly average but the fact that her Judo is world class and that is what has made her unbeatable in the womans game. No ANY MMA guy at her weight would not pummel her (there are some who would), I doubt she would take the strategy to stand there and exchange punches.

also, you idiots comparing a HS bball player beating a WNBA player in basketball are dumb. The HS bball player is a trained bball player.
90% of people here are not trained to fight and that is the main difference. you'd stand no chance if you had no fight training, regardless of your size.

Not like there are thousands of high school kids in America that do judo. Had you said Japan then I'd agree with you. Or if its jimmy Pedro's kids

I hope you aren't talking about professionals. Obviously some dude who went to a few classes and is a shitty athlete but calls himself an MMA guy wouldnt pummel her. But pros? LOL

Well that's not true. Travis Browne is a 250lb heavyweight and has said that she's hip tossed him in practice numerous times.
And I'm sorry, you weren't 'in shape' at 6' 245lbs unless you were somehow also an NFL linebacker
