Bringing something back in time and effecting history that way is a dead end.
The only way to do a game changer is to take out a power before they become a power. What is the world now with no Hitler? What is the world with no Lee Harvey Oswald? And those are just two recent.
Inventions are great as are the people who invent but it's the person that is the key. JMO

Exactly this. When gold first came on the open market back in the 70's it was selling for $35 an ounce.
Think about investing in Apple Computers getting in on the ground floor.
Or how about Harley-Davidson after the company was bought out from AMF and they had that huge upswing in sales.
Knowing where the hottest property markets were going to be in your city. Remember the Irish Channel in the 70's-90's. Mid-City since Hurricane Katrina, etc.

Never said they were full. A list of known slave ships, and starting with the first Dutch ships to make it to the new world could be taken out in port or en route to Africa. Strike terror into any others who would dare embark on the slave trade.

Something that all of us do know is basic hygiene and whatnot. So although none of us know how to manufacture antibiotics, we do know to keep wounds clean and not to bleed out patients. We would know to boil water before drinking it and not to shite upstream of our water supply.

Or the opposite...gotta be prepared. There's a great book based on this premise called "The Crucifixion Conspirators". I won't give anything away but worth a read for both religious and non-religious alike. In it they also go back to the time of the American Revolution.

Another good book actually by Stephen King is "11/22/63" about someone who goes back to kill Oswald. This one deals more with how changing things affects the future.

That's kind of my premise. Taking something that's already invented to sure, making money for yourself or bringing something to the world earlier and changing it that way but all that is doing in reality is moving pieces in time.
Changing the world is changing history and the main instrument to doing that would be changing the power structure over an extended time. Meaning decades, possibly a century or two.
It's always been a interesting thing to ponder to me. What happens if certain things don't happen in history. Is the world any different? Or does some other unknown person step up and do the same things just under a different name?
