Could the argument be made that the chicken is the most successful species of all time?

Just based on numbers:
There are roughly 25.9 billion chickens living in the world.
(Statista)
I read that 75% of all birds on the planet are chickens.
But weagle they are food. Yeah, but maybe that is their niche that allows for such a large number for the species.

Usually good tasting animals were hunted to extinction. Fortunately, this animal survived that fate. Lucky for us!

Within industrial agriculture scenarios in the US the typical chicken slaughter age is 47 days.
Long term investment strategies isn't recommended for a chicken in the US that wants to be successful

We are all food eventually … worm food, people food, animal food. Doesn’t really matter; still food.

I bet there are more ants than chickens.

The dodo bird was an exception. The Dutch thought they tasted like shite.

There wouldn't be billions of chickens if man didn't see a use in them and if they weren't so easily domesticated.
Dogs are more successful than chickens. It's an animal that was domesticated just like the chicken, but unlike almost every other domesticated species, managed to become "Man's Best Friend" instead of "Mama's Fried Chicken". He got to sit at the side of the table instead of being served ON the table.
Seems like a pretty successful formula to me. I mean, how many chickens are fed "dog meal"?

Second most successful would have to be skeeters. Estimated number is 10 million for every human on the planet

Yes, and they’re pretty cocky about it too.

I think dogs have been more successful, they sleep in our beds and have their own parks.
