The record store. Sam Goody's or whatever brand it was.

It was Musicland first, then Sam Goody's til the end, same company.

Obligatory Spaceport, KB Toys, Babbage's, Mava Brava's pizza slice, first and only chik-fil-a in BR with free samples, Mandarin express Chinese, airbrushing place across from it, journey's and the manager that looked like howard stern, the fountains, etc.

I do have a funny story about it in the early 2000s, me and a buddy partook in some chemical induced fun, we drove there at like 10pm and the entire mall was open and no one was there. it was nuts, we just walked around. that was when they had those booths with a news 2 camera that you could press a button and talk to, and apparently the news would air some of the footage.

There is a video out there some where of 2 out of their minds dude's from around 2004 with pupils the size of dinner plates. would love to see it today

The pizza place in the food court was banging, I only ever went there, to Dillard's, and to Sears.

Something about the Taco Bell in that mall seemed like they had the best tacos ever.

You could smoke, drink beer, and get the second best pizza in BR at Mama Brava's. Space Port was the only legit arcade in BR for a long time. Orange Julius. The smell of General Nutrition. Going clothes shopping with my mom every summer.

Picadilly cafeteria(fried catfish) first then my mom said see ya!! Myself and the twin bro walked right across to the arcade where we wrecked shite. When the money was gone then we headed to Kaybee toy store where we started looking at the clear packs of baseball or football cards trying to find a star. We could do this for hours. We met mom at a predetermined place and time (no cell phones) and then headed home. Good memories

Pretty sure we then went to a movie.

Damn, I forgot about the movie theater. The first movie I can remember seeing there was ET.

In college one of my friends and I worked at one of the kiosks where the hallways converged, across from Florsheim Shoes called "The Peanut Shack".

We sold Icees, nuts, gummi bears, chocolate, stuff like that.

It always took all our self control not to laugh when someone would ask us "how much are your nuts?"

All the hot chicks that worked at the mall would come by for an Icee or snack. It was a great way to earn some cash in college.

Tiger Tracks on WFMF by Jim Nasium and Randy Rice

Loved this each week. Was driving home from weekend trip and heard a song that made me think of this. Wonder why nobody ever did it again.

I'll tell you what though...you'd better have some dough if you wanted to shop for toys there. I loved Toys By Roy because it legitimately felt like the toy stores you'd see in the movies.

There were the lighted display cases with the hand-painted soldier figures. The premium dolls of celebrities (Marilyn Monore, Groucho Marx, George Burns) and the bikes hanging from the ceiling.

It just felt like a special place. But man, was it pricey.

I did get my first Lego set from there though ...small little space set and I got one of those plastic lightsabers that made the swooshing sound when you swung it.

I hated when it closed and the Levis Store opened in the spot -- but like I said, I was too OT poor to buy much they carried with my lawn cutting money.
