I think they actually can be. It is against the law in most states to go in public with a mask that conceals identity.

It is going to help you prevent contagion. Get supplies now. Everyone is on lockdown. Stores are shutdown for a couple of weeks. Why is this not hard to understand? Is it rational? Prolly not but hey at least I'm not gonna have to go to the damn store for toilet paper or food for 3 months and have to deal with rantards.

What’s more out of control is the fricking ads on this site. No shite, here’s the ad at the bottom on this thread when I clicked on it:

You do realize that your phone / computer both listen to & read what you say, and the things you click on, to create those ads, right? Just being in this thread probably created that ad just for you.

I wonder if they are currently investing in a safe room/storm shelter. In a couple hours the other day tornadoes killed more than the virus has across the country so far. I guess people need to feel in control over stuff.

No it's the law in a lot of states/jurisdictions. And Alabama wasn't the only state to pass these laws thanks to the Klan - many southern states did. It has been thrown out by courts in some states, though. Tennessee is one such state. From Wiki:

Other courts have struck down anti-mask laws. For example, Tennessee and Florida state laws have been invalidated on the grounds that they were unconstitutionally broad.

Interesting considering Tennessee is the home of the Klan.

Either way, I am in favor of these laws. Especially in ANTIFA heavy districts since they are basically the modern Klan.

14 deaths out of ~225 cases in a country like the US seems like a high rate to me for a virus related to the common cold.

That 225 number prior to now isn’t even close to accurate. People with mild symptoms haven’t been getting tested. The mortality rate will come down significantly compared to the numbers you have posted.

Or maybe they were both sick and didn't want to spread germs?

Then they shouldn’t have been at Walmart
The girl was middle school age, old enough to sit in the car for a bit
They also have grocery delivery / pick up

I think he addressed that.

It's not going to be nearly as deadly on a case by case basis as past outbreaks, but considering it is as easily transmissible as the common cold (we know how many people catch colds each year) it could kill a heck of a lot of people.

That being said there really isn't much people should be doing other than washing their hands, avoiding touching their faces, and other things you already should be doing during cold/flu season.

If it gets to the point where the damned virus is everywhere, then sick people should wear masks, old people and those with comorbidities should avoid crowds, and the rest of us should just live our lives, wash our hands, and not touch our faces.

I usually feel the need to dress in Level A PPE anytime I'm at a Wal-Mart.

So I was shopping in Baw-Mart today when I saw a family of 5 who looked straight out of a post-apocalyptic movie. They were all wearing straight up gas-masks, like real WW1-style gas masks, and they all had long sleeves (surprised it wasn't hazmat suits), surgical gloves and tactical pants. Every person in the family had a buggy and they were cleaning the place out. The carts were filled with cans, bread, water and cleaning supplies

and not a single picture was taken
