And while the pandemic is a big deal in New Orleans, cancelling the largest financial windfall for the city might've been worse.
There are hundreds of businesses in New Orleans for which Mardi Gras is vital to survive. Those businesses would still be closed now, regardless if we had Mardi Gras or not. At least now they have some more cushion from those few weeks.
