Can’t speak to the national stockpile but they allowed us to access our Ebola stockpile and use the expired products last week. Most of those went to South Bay. In full disclosure, there were problems back in January with surgical gowns from a cardinal recall...so those shortages were already an issue before this. They are just exacerbated now.

Louisiana yes, north part. We run the ambulance through the fire department. Any pt with any of the symptoms cough, respiratory, or fever we are full PPE. We try to not go inside if possible if any of those symptoms are present.
A lot of people call us and are obviously worried they have it. Hard to say as far as ERs are concerned since they are normally busy anyhow, I wouldn't say they are much busier than normal.

Why isn’t Plaquenil getting more publicity? New study shows promise

While unpublished yet, the first patient trial of Plaquenil for COVID-19, conducted in Marseilles, France, has reported encouraging early results. The trial, announced in a video on Monday, was led by Didier Raoult, a physician-scientist who has published on microbes for several decades. According to a draft article by Raoult’s team and obtained by me, 36 patients were enrolled in the trial, including 16 infected controls and 20 treated patients. The test group was given 600 mg daily of Plaquenil, which is on the WHO’s List of Essential Medicines and has been used for malaria, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. At day three, the study reported, 50 percent of the treated group turned from positive to negative for the COVID-19 virus. By day six, 70 percent tested negative. As intriguing, of the 20 test patients, six who were treated with both Plaquenil and the antibiotic azithromycin did even better, the team reported. Five of the six, or 83 percent, tested negative at day three. All six, 100 percent, tested negative at day six. Meanwhile, the control patients largely stayed sick longer. On days three and six, just 6.3 percent and 12.5 percent, respectively, tested negative. The research paper did not include how they were alternatively treated.

Do you have any reports for mhow the icus are fairing? Full? Empty?? Somewhere in between? I’m assuming you have no clue about vents.

I'll try and find out tomorrow, I only go to ER or OB pretty much. I'll ask one of the ER nurses, granted tomorrow is my shift on the fire truck not on ambulance but I'm sure I'll still make some runs anyways. I'll be back on ambulance Sunday and will certainly make sure to ask.

There's only a handful of fire departments that run ambulance in Louisiana. Thank goodness quite a bit of firemen do windshields as a side job and are also sports fans lol quote:

You too and thank you. Again, if we get busy I'll end up on a backup ambulance tomorrow and I'll find out just so folks who may wanna have a general idea of how north La, the ICUs and stuff are. Or I'll have someone on the ambulance crew ask for me.

Compared to several other countries we look be entering a critical stage where deaths started escalating. I pray that isn’t the case in the US. Whatever the Germans are doing seems to be working.

Volvagia has said that they have done tracing and there is 100% no way it was here earlier than Jan 15th. Apparently, their data is infallible according to him.

Who said that? Plaquenil has been around for decades. If it is deemed effective through peer reviewed studies, it will be available immediately and it’s cheap.

i'm pretty sure plaquenil is the same thing as hydroxychloroquine...the poster "tiguar" has stated in this thread that his facility is using it on a current patient.
