Again... it’s a race to see who can be the most “woke” about covid19. You’re either doing the most or doing nothing at all.

Germany has over 5k cases and 12 deaths. I was told they’d have at least 100 by now.

What are the demographics on those cases?
How many are in ICU?

I’m not trolling I can’t find the information anywhere and I would like to know.

It’s been out of control. I kept asking last week what anyone would consider a reasonable response to all of this would be. What’s worth the economic downturn if we completely shut everything down for 2 months in the name of saving 10k lives. At the time I thought it was an extreme example. Not so much anymore. People have lost their damn minds.

I’m not saying it’s true or false but I had a family member recently discharged from there and his nurse told me they were discharging as many patients as they could to home (often with home health). She said the ER was overflowing and they needed beds. I asked if it was COVID-19 related and she said she thought it was normal stuff. I heard several traumas announced that day but I think it’s highly unlikely there aren’t positive patients there by now.

They didn’t start taking extra precautions and screening and limiting visitors until Friday. I think BRGMC started Thursday.

Hopefully other cities won't be following that trend. Seems like an insane level of overreaction IMHO

Germany has a naive CFR of 0.2% and the majority of their confirmed infections are in the 20 - 50 yr range (last that I saw). So it is a very interesting case study, esp with regard to protecting the older population.

A week ago they had already found 4 different versions of the virus. Possible that the infections in different countries are different strands.

You are assuming there wouldn’t be an economic downturn if we did nothing

It’s very likely the city turns in chaos as people really start to panic when they hear people are being turned away from the ER. You think people are going to show up to work like nothing is happening?

Then by that point it’s too late to do anything.

How can you not see that?

It must be because you are still in denial that a significant number of these patients need critical care. We have been beating the same dead horse for over a month and you still don’t get it.
