Only 140K cases worldwide in 3 full months with cases already going down in the epicenter of China. How are folks around here actually touting numbers of possibly 150-200 million Americans could get infected? Quit being panicky sheep, people.

I hav a type of Leukemia, I'm definitely at risk.

But I don't want your quality of life to be forcefully changed when I can take adequate precautions myself.

You do realize the extreme measures they've taken to get to that point, right?

The US doesn't need to do that due to the difference in population density and overall better health standards, but some steps have been necessary to start to get a handle on this.

I love how you show up to this thread looking for a fight/argument. It is not our fault that the government is overreacting. I am with you but I understand why they are doing it.

This guy who coauthored the paper doesn’t think summer will have much effect.

LINK

quote:

For the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, we have reason to expect that like other betacoronaviruses, it may transmit somewhat more efficiently in winter than summer, though we don’t know the mechanism(s) responsible. The size of the change is expected to be modest, and not enough to stop transmission on its own. Based on the analogy of pandemic flu, we expect that SARS-CoV-2, as a virus new to humans, will face less immunity and thus transmit more readily even outside of the winter season. Changing seasons and school vacation may help, but are unlikely to stop transmission.

It doesn’t matter what measures they took, it’s going down.

So their real numbers are worse?

Or are the numbers the released worse than reality?

Why would they intentionally alter their numbers to make things look worse

It's consistently in the 70s in Iran right now and the virus is spreading like wildfire there. Warmer temps aren't going to do much.
